Front Yard Garden | Mid Spring Tour

Let’s tour my front garden beds now that we’re in mid spring. It’s the end of April and things are still “Springing” up. Lots of shade plants such as Hosta, Heuchera plants and Big Leaf Begonias are springing into action!

I installed a new gated archway on the side of the house and I’m dreaming up new side house garden plans and would love to get your comments and suggestions.

  1. Hi! I'm new to your channel. Love your videos! I just mulch over the leaves from my live oaks (I have 3!). The leaf mulch is very good compost for your plants and is a natural amendment for the soil.

  2. I absolutely love your yard. I literally just found your channel yesterday and ive been hooked. I live in zone 6 and looking forward to getting my garden ready. I plant vegetables, herbs and flowers. Not as many flowers as you but you definitely inspired me to step my game up

  3. Make sure that your neighbor is not moving anytime soon. New neighbors may not see your wonderful vision.

  4. Oh my word, I have 2 of those Plow &Hearth arbors:- one with and one without a gate to create a garden room. So how long is that stretch on the south side of your garden? I think that gate arbor is fitting. I think some of those raised beds flanked by skinny plants in the middle and no turf would be nice. Also, a hillside garden with boulders would be nice.

  5. I love your flower beds!😍 I think hostas would be great 😊 on the side of the house, if it stays mostly shaded. Make sure they’re the dwarf variety,so that they don’t grow too big.
