The Japanese Hori Hori is a versatile gardening tool that is becoming increasingly popular with gardeners in other countries. If you love working in a garden this is a very handy tool to have. The word Hori in Japanese means “to dig” and the name Hori Hori in Japanese represents the sound of digging. I find it much better than a typical garden trowel. It would also be handy when camping and as a digging tool for metal detecting.

Great review of a great tool. I never used mine for gardening. I used mine for metal detecting. When I sold most of my MD equipment around 5 years past, the knife went too.
I found the knife to be indestructible, stayed sharp. Perfect digging tool for coin shooting. I wore a leather sheath
that came with the tool.
It will make a great gardening tool. Great defensive weapon too. Once I was MD in a city park, and this bigger than me homeless looking man approached me. He was acting suspicious, so I pulled out that rather large knife pretending to dig-a hole. He quickly left the area.
