  1. It would be a good idea to make the area friendly for wild birds because they are the best natural protection against bugs.

  2. youre an inspiration my man. im a cs student and I cant wait to own some property like this. this is exactly what im working towards.

  3. I'd put some berry bushes in the garden, additional cover and food for chicks and maybe some for the human, if they leave any for you.

  4. Just remember about pickups and cars. A rear wheel drive pickup with the right tires can go more places than a four wheel drive with all seasons. Ive seen videos of miatas with snow tires towing 4wd SUVs out of the snow. Its more about how the pickup is loaded and what tires its got, sure a 4 wheel drive can go to a little more places while hauling more but you can get by with anything on wheels. A tractor would be the best option for mud and towing in the farm.

  5. you can also put motion detectors and lights in the chicken area to help scare off predators, along with some low-tech options like putting barbed wire on top of the fence to discourage predators from climbing it

  6. Love the fact that he is slowly turning into Amish to improve his online privacy

  7. Proprietary guys trying to take a unlicensed bite out of this man's food are going to become open source real fast when he whips out the shotgun.

  8. * Chickens
    * Garden
    * ATV to haul stuff
    * Living out in the country

    You're turning into my dad.

  9. Did you just move out there or you been there since the start? Anyways Good luck and i am happy for you

  10. That's sick! I would love to see many other videos of you working at the farm!
    I always had chickens in my life and i can tell you they are so stupid that they peck everything, so if you put some little geese they will kill the geese and every other animal that is too small to defend himself.
    Never had geese though (but my neighbor had a flock, they are very territorial) but that is what i would do in your situation.
    Also get a couple of male chickens and start to breed them. Keep the ladies for the eggs and raise the males for their meat. Ez money

  11. The chickens will go right through that fence, and at least my chickens can fly that high even with their wings clipped. It's rather difficult to keep them in one place

  12. Better open source your potato farm mental outlaw. Also watch out for the normie window users(zombies) mental outlaw its almost nighttime

  13. Only thing my aunt who owns a lot of chickens has issues with is the roosters, if they get bored they might start "harassing" the hens too much and will have to be put down so I think you're making a good choice with the geese.

  14. Can you point the camera at the farm, maybe even have it and a facecam if possible? I think it will be more interesting that way

  15. call me stupid, im just a suburban boy from seattle; the whole scales of economy thing is over my head… but how the hell are companies getting away with selling $5 for a chick while i can pick up an entire pre-cooked roasted chicken from costco for the same price? Im aware there's a lot that comes into play I'm just curious

  16. Okra triggered me to comment 🙂 Okra & lamb meat stew is an iraqi thing.

    I've been considering lately to leave the country near the northern screw and move down to the sunny Spain and start selling Shawerma there instead 🙂

    Learn the pigeons game and you can make money as well…

  17. My favorite FOSS cooking channel has pivoted one step further to make his food completely decentralized and FOSS!

    I like the plan so-far but I would be very pro-active about installing shrubs that produce fruits like blackberry, strawberry and blueberries if you think you would want them in the future. The same for apple trees and the-like but I would make sure your property is compatible with your plans as these trees can change the soil and drainage around the tree dramatically.

    Shrubs however, produce a good food source for poultry that takes the egg and meat quality of chickens to another level and, are great natural defenses around boarders. I live opposite a farm and help the old guy out (does it for free) with his technical issues and maintaining his land and the owner of the farm uses these bushes around his boarder and loves what they do for the wild life around my parts. Add to the fact they will attract insects that your chickens are gonna go hayday on and that they are practically zero maintenance; give you a fruit that you can use in mead and make jams with and you would be pretty stupid not putting them in especially while the weather is nice.

    I see on your boarders that you have shrubs there to begin with so, why not?

    My other point is that you want to make sure your bees have some nectar sources around them like flowers and bushes that actually produce nectar for a good stretch of the year to support the hives with so you don't have to buy "sugar" from (the anti-christ) external sources to prop the hive up during the winter.
    Your berry shrubs will give you nectar as well but you may also want to plant something with more flowers.

    I have a friend that propped up his hives with supplies of sugar through the winter but because they weren't sufficient through the year the hives died off because of mites which thrive in stagnant hives that don't have to forage for nectar.

    However many hens you think you need, add ten more. Not all your chicks will make it to first lay. It sucks but, you will want to have some overage to account for lost productivity. Nothing is worse than depending on store-bought eggs when you have been eating the best eggs in the world from a local supplier. More chickens is never a bad thing in my opinion.

  18. good geese fight fox and scare them easily but you should be careful about ferret and badger, they are pretty aggressiv

  19. Hello my friend I represent a small group who would like to interview you mainly about your right to repair video we think it’s awesome and that’s how we were made aware of you and I don’t see an email or anything to reach out to you on such matters so I will be posting this comment in your new videos for a few days or weeks to get your attention. I’m sorry if I bother you.
