🌷 Skagit Valley Tulip Festival! 🌷

Welcome gardeners! This week my mom and I decided to go on an impromptu trip to the Skagit Valley in Washington State for the Tulip Festival! Rows and rows of colorful tulips paint the valley. It really is an amazing sight to see! 🌷Enjoy!

“A tulip doesn’t strive to impress anyone. It doesn’t struggle to be different than a rose. It doesn’t have to. It is different. And there’s room in the garden for every flower.” – Marianne Williamson

  1. How fun!! What an amazing trip with your mom! I’ve been wanting to visit Skagit valley for the tulip festival.🌷🌷🌷 Now I’m convinced it’s a must go destination! Thanks for sharing! Happy Birthday to your mom! 🥳

  2. Thank you for sharing! I’m going to add this to my bucket list . Is the bnb whale rendezvous close by?

  3. I was just at the Flower Fields in Carlsbad, California. It looks almost exactly like that, but it's Ranunculus! If you haven't been, you should plan a trip there sometime.

  4. Beautiful!! Thank you for sharing. I grew up here and am in Southern California now. Definitely get home sick in April. Glad you were able to go!

  5. Great memories of our three weeks there in 2021! Our first day, it started to snow at Tulip Town—brought such joy and happy tears to my eyes! Thanks for sharing; from Folsom. 🌷

  6. Hi! You're up in our neighborhood practically, just over the border from us in Vancouver BC Canada. The weather right now is unseasonably cold. Our April is usually much warmer. I hope you have fun anyway!

  7. Welcome to western Washington! Happy Birthday Mom! I live south of Seattle. Years ago we would leave home in the dark so we could arrive at the tulips fields to take pics in the morning light. Sometimes we were the only ones there and there were no fees for parking or entrance to the gardens. The good old days! I always order bulbs from RoozenGaarde every year and the bulbs are big and very high quality. I planted a bed with a river of muscari, aka grape hyacinth, with daffodils in the backround. Gorgeous! Yes, our bulb season is very late this year. Still waiting for tulips to bloom and even some of the specialty daffodils. The Dutch Master daffodils bloomed early as expected. One of the split corona daffodils you pointed out was Apricot Whirl, and she's a beauty. She naturalized and grew back again this year. Also waiting for the alliums and Fritillaria Persica to bloom. This sounds like a great birthday trip! Glad you could visit the beautiful Skagit Valley.

  8. ❤❤❤❤Wow, this was a beautiful trip. This is what I imagine a gardener's heaven looks like.❤❤❤❤

  9. I absolutely agree….we lived nearby this area for 20 years, and it was a seasonal must do. I felt it was a best kept secret. If you never make it to Amsterdam, you won't have missed out. Also, take a ferry ride to Cli ton on Whidbey Island and visit Christianson Nursery!

  10. Thank you for sharing this beautiful trip with us. So much beauty. Just think God could have made everything black and white but He loved us so much He gave us all the beautiful colors and flowers of every shape and size.

  11. So gorgeous! I drove up there last Easter with my sister in law, from their place in Everett an hour or so south of there – tulips are definitely a few weeks behind this year due to the cold! (I'm in Spokane, even more behind – none of mine are blooming yet!)
So worth the trip!! Thanks for sharing 🌷

  12. Now I know that early blooms are just as beautiful as the full blooms! We always go at the end of the season, but now we might go sooner than we planned, looks like less crowds too. (Sorry I didn't watch your video with the volume on so I don't know what you're saying).

  13. Where is your video regarding Climate change. I went back to watch it for a second time with my daughter to find it gone.

  14. Thank you for sharing your trip! So beautiful! Closest I have gotten is the runnaculas fields in Carlsbad. The colors just stay in your mind. Could tell that was mom right away. Special trip!

  15. Yes, it's been an unusually chilly, rainy and windy spring in the Skagit Valley. Many people of a certain age used to work in the tulip fields as teenagers. In the spring , they have a barn where workers wrap tulips for fresh market. In the summer, they dig the bulbs. Dusty work! The Roozen family has employed many people for decades. When they opened the Roozengarde shop and viewing grounds, the Tulip Festival really took off and became a very popular April destination. Thank you for visiting our beautiful valley.🌷🌷🌷

  16. Very gorgeous! Reminds me of The Flower Fields in Carlsbad, CA. They have renunculas instead of tulips.

  17. So amazing, I got teary 🥹 eyed, for some reason, when you guys were driving along the Daffodil field after Roozen.

  18. I didn;t know we had a Keukenhof here in the States! Now I don't have to go to the Netherlands for spectacular beauty. Thanks for sharing, Janie and Happy Birthday, Mom!

  19. These are the “Moments and Memories” .. that will last a “LIFETIME” ❤️🌷🍃 Happy Birthday Mom !!

  20. ❤Thank you for posting. visited in 2019 and the trip is a beautiful memory. Love to see videos of the river of purple flowers between the tulips
