Good morning 😃
I’m not a chicken person, but I think I read somewhere that the chicks need to be separated because they can be pecked to death. My 2 🪙 is not to try to get the blue shed ready for that. I almost think it would be more expensive to fix it up than to make another one like you have?
Chickens should have 2 square feet per chicken – to help you calculate the size of something you might build in the future or help decide how many chickens you can house.
Some coops do ok with babies around, but generally speaking it is safer to remove mama and babies.
Just as you are thinking I would not add that many in your chicken tractor.
That space would be perfect though for mama and babies if you can move the rest of your flock to the bigger area.
Not sure about expense and such if it would be worth fixing the old coop or getting something different.
It all depends if you have some items you can repurpose for that.
But netting or some kind of wiring roof should probably be put over the big one too to protect from predators.
Good luck with the new babies. Exciting. They are so cute.
The nice thing about this is they are way easier and less expensive to raise with a mama hen.
I know you still have s few weeks but male sure you have chick starter available for them and mama to eat and water that is accessible for the tiny tikes (but can't drown in) from the day they hatch. 💜
