We Are Renovating a Japanese House Now We Are Replacing The Windows & Huge Beams 空き家リフォーム

In this video I reveal a source for free fire wood if you have a wood burning fire place in Japan. I also take you along to the local nursery store to buy cherry trees for our Japanese garden and vacant house renovation in Japan. Stay tuned because two HUGE beams have been installed using traditional Japanese carpentry techniques. Additionally, check out a fellow YouTuber from Australia. Steve purchased a Kominka or Minka in Nagano and converted it into a cafe and pizza place called “Cafe Tama no ie” at 6134 Wakahohoshina, Nagano, 381-0102. He also has a cool YouTube channel named “Real Rural Japan” documenting daily rural living in Japan. You will get a first hand view of the intricacies of living in the countryside of Japan. Lastly you will see the latest with our Japanese house renovation efforts. The house was an Akiya or vacant house.

I am a foreigner (Mexican American) living and renovating a traditional Japanese house in rural Japan. We bought an old Vacant Japanese house (Akiya). This abandoned Japanese house is in rural Japan. Follow our Akiya house renovation and Japanese countryside living. I bought a JDM Kei truck AKA Japanese Mini Truck to help clean the previous owner’s property and daily Japanese rural living. We travel Japan as much as possible and provide travel tips in Japan.

前所有者さんが残していった家財道具を処分する為とこれからの田舎暮らしの為に軽トラを購入しました。私たちは可能な限り日本を旅行し、日本でのトラベルティップなども配信していこうと思ってます。

  1. Such a cool video, thanks for sharing! I'm moving to Japan in the fall, and these videos are so awesome to see!

  2. Cool video man. Once you move in and get settled you will have endless opportunities to keep busy and have fun instead of the grind. Start putting word out to get yourself a small tanbo. We have a system we have trialed for 2 years now where you fill up the rice field with your phone. So you can travel and farm at the same time no problem. Cheers for the shout out!

  3. Nice to see some progress being made on the house. Hopefully, it will go along quickly now. Can't wait to see the log beams!

  4. Actually I hope the cherry trees do get also cherries on it not like the normal sakura trees.
Nothing makes more fun than spotting ripe cherries at the tree before start picking them.

  5. I'm a new subscriber and I loved your energy. Seeing "Chingona" on the truck made me laugh. Saludos desde Mexicali, Baja California!

  6. So cool sir, I can’t wait to see the cherry trees taking off next year! The house is getting there! Saludos 🙂

  7. Great stuff! Very, very similar to our situation, although you are clearly much farther along than where we are just now. Love the house, it's going to be beautiful when done! You are also very lucky to have a garage! I am envious…
