Container Gardening

Container Gardening for Tomatoes and Peppers (And a Garden Update)

So I think I’ve figured out a way to keep all the extra plants I have!…Unfortunately it will cost me a few dollars in extra garden soil..but hopefully will reap me HUGE rewards in vegetables throughout the 2023 gardening season…so I’ve got a little bit of container gardening for ya’ll today 🙂 Come along with me as I do some daily gardening chores on this high desert homestead!

Today I will be planting various tomatoes and peppers in pots that I am going to put near my raised beds, and show you how to trellis these tomatoes without having to buy additional garden trellises or tomato cages!

I’ve also got a few surprises in the garden to show you, as well as a success story I was NOT expecting.

  1. I remember my nan saying peppers love hugs and kisses and lots of togetherness. She said it so I’d be able to remember it and plant them close ❤ your three peppers will be so happy lol

  2. I grew all of my tomatoes in the 5 gallon Lowes buckets last year. The buckets have 4 large holes in them in case I watered too much.

You could also add more soil to the pot as the tomato grows (almost like billing them)

  3. Good morning Fireside Farms. I definitely like the container you've chosen for those tomatoes and peppers. Thanks so much for the garden update – and I'm glad to see all the chickens are doing well. 😊😊

  4. You’re going to have a bountiful harvest. I’m so bummed I didn’t get down that way to buy some of those from you. Oh well I have an Azure Standard order arriving soon with lots of plant starts. Good luck.

  5. Excited to see how your chamomile plant does this year. I have never grown one so going to watch you and learn first 😜
