  1. Can't wait to watch your garden grow & thrive in the coming videos!! All I'm trying to grow right now is catnip for my daughter's cat 😂. Fingers crossed.

  2. Your son is such a great helper! Can’t wait to watch your garden grow, thank you for taking us along!

  3. So wonderful seeing Winston pitching in. And what an innovative idea for the watering can!

  4. I am so glad to see you letting your son help you so he can learn to grow things. You probably didn't have much success with your potatoes because you planted them too late. Potatoes usually are planted on St Patrick's Day here in SW Missouri.

  5. We learn more every year! It’s fun, but we buy starting plants from a great nursery near us. Doesn’t cost much. I really think it would cost us more for seeds & everything else that goes with it. We live in northern Illinois so our growing season is shorter. We can’t really plant until after Memorial Day. The best of Luck to you & your family!

  6. Two of my do what Max is doing!!! I tell my granddaughter they are practicing the stop drop and roll!! Lol

  7. Your makeshift water can worked great! That was a great idea! I live in Illinois and so far I've planted broccoli, cauliflower, red and green cabbage, some spinach & onions. I'm trying celery for the first time. I've also started seeds on some things for the first time that I will actually get to plant and super excited about it. I'm tilling up a small piece of the yard to plant potatoes in. The last 2 years I did sweet potatoes, but I'm the main one that eats them, and we all eat regular potatoes. I'm so happy you get to have a garden this year. I'm anxious to see how it does!!

  8. I'm so excited for your garden! Please learn from my mistakes and when you do your raised beds, line the bottom with chicken wire to keep the moles out. They ruined mine 🤬😭

  9. What I learned over the yrs is plant everything 2 weeks apart that way everything doesn’t harvest at once

  10. Yay, you're gonna have lots of tomatoes to can! I still need to start my garden. I've been wanting to try potatoes but haven't yet.

  11. I love the water pitcher it’s perfect and gentle watering. Thank you for sharing 🫑🌟🥔🌟🍉

  12. Hi Tamara. Love seeing you so giddy and excited about starting a garden. Winston seemed to enjoy helping in the process. Luke's watering can was an excellent "invention." And dear sweet Max–I just love that boy! Can't wait to share in your new adventure! Have a blessed day.

  15. Awesome start to your garden and great using what you have. If you don't already follow her, Jess over at Roots and Refuge has an excellent YouTube channel and is a wonderful teacher. She has 2 books out. Both are very good! The First Time Gardener is an excellent resource.

  17. This will be a great adventure for you and your family. You’re about the same age as my younger daughter and she has become very “gung ho” about gardening too. Winston will pick up knowledge too as he helps you. It’s a win/win all around! You go girl!
