  1. I’m looking for beans like green beans. Something you can just pick and steam. Are those beans in your beans collection like that or do you wait for them to mature and then boil the beans inside?

  2. I don't remember who I was speaking with about jumping in to adding drip to my pot. But I'm buying a starter kit tomorrow. So I can put my beans in the little shorty too. Thanks Kim!!

  3. The local ground squirrels and birds have a strange fondness for all the cucumber and melon plants I try to grow. The pesky squirrels actually eat the leaves and stems.

  4. Nothing better than a Calikim video if you wake up in the middle of the night and can't fall asleep again. 😉 You get some good garden vibes and some Cali sunshine and can start dreaming of this years bountiful harvest in your own garden…

  5. Pizza garden…just come out with a pizza tree with extra cheese and pepperoni and a 7 day seed to harvest. Is that too much to ask? LOL Cheers

  6. Wow those bamboo sticks are thicc! I have never seen that size being sold in the UK.

My kid used to come home at the start of the holidays with a runner bean plant but forgot which holiday that was, so i planted 2 runner beans i had from a collection i saved last year at the same time as the sugar snap peas back in mid feb. So yes, they are about 6ft tall now in a fabric pot, teepee bamboo frames, in the utility area with full conservatory windows for now. lol

The sugar snap peas are just over a foot now. They have been acclimatized to outside but we have had such a wet a wild March in the UK. Temps at night were between 5 – 10 c on average but we also had some dips, so didn't want to plant them out just yet. Winter was so dry again, so glad for the rain and hope it will benefit the garlic!

Perpetual spinach x 12 was planted out last week. I made a 2×2 tent frame with bamboo sticks and fizzy bottles to protect the covers. The back half is covered with an old net curtain and the front is a plastic netting to stop birds, etc. They haven't attacked the radishes and turnips too much and the beetroot seedlings are appearing ok. I have a bunch of dwarf curled kale and dill ready to acclimatise and plant out.

With have a plastic upright coldframe and lid from B&Q and the carrots seem to be thriving in there. Safe and sound from being eaten in the beds!

We are currently in the middle of building a tomato frame that also covers the rest of the main bed area. Hoping to source some fabric to cover it all from pests as it will be all self pollinating plants.

On the second week of Easter holidays atm. With the bad weather we are doing a spring cleaning of the toy collections. My kid is a bit sentimental/ hoarderish but has finally let go of a lot of the younger toys. We still have a lot of baby stuff to sell as well as it looks like that ship has sailed with our health issues. We are now faced with a bunch of toys, clothes and baby stuff to sell, donate to the school, charity, etc. It is quite overwhelming, with what we can clear out now. I don't use FB so might do a "drive" sale? Like i said it is all a bit overwhelming.

With the weather there settling down now and all of that nature moisture in the land, i'm looking forward to seeing what changes you notice this year in the beds!

  7. I'm in TN have already planted the same as you, is it too late for sugar snap peas, we have had 60'sn 70's during the day and 40-50 at night
