NO TRAILER? NO PROBLEM! [99% DIFFERENT THAN MOSET SETUPS!]

Today Jeremiah Jennings of Growing Green Landscapes is showing off his box truck setup for his lawn care business. This unique setup allows the mowers to be stored inside and safe from the elements or theft.

This cab-over-style box truck has a dovetail ramp on the back, allowing his team to drive the mowers right into the truck. No need for expensive long trailers hanging off the back of their mow rig! This unique lawn care setup allows them crazy productivity in a compact package.

  1. Not a bad setup. Whatever works and is efficient for the business is all good! Am I first? Wow! lol

  2. DOT IS FEDERAL, ALL COMMERCIAL VEHICLE over 10,000 requires health card class C 10,001 to 25,000 non air brakes, with air brakes 10,000-25,000 class B, 25,000+ with air brakes class B, Class A for i forgot the weight at this time… tractor trailers, limo driving, transit bus driving, school buses. and then with regulated chemicals such as pesticides and fertilizers, fossil fuels, corrosives, explosives, so on and so forth, yo also have to have a hazmat endorsement as well as Dept.Homeland Security background clearance.
surprised the truck turbo and motor didn't blow, that's what kept happening to a similar truck with that mower set up. was fine with a 48" turf tracer and a 52" grandstand, but the 60" laser z with the 52" grand stand kept blowing turbos left and right in those poor 3 bangers.
JD 930M's are great for HOA and commercial work 20-50 acre properties
the stihl 800C's it's just like the old pull starts, you have to get the compression built up first, and then it will turn over and fire up. retarded i know but fingers crossed for like a milkwuakee m12 battery start in the next 3 years. starting to see the battery start for weed whips at retail stores like menards.

  3. I just bought my first cab over with a 19’ landscape bed. So far we love it. No trailer is really nice and it looks legit going down the road!

  4. This is amazing. Only turn off is no gate assist. But he's crushing it! I'm sure he'll find something. Everyone knows that feeling at 9pm in fall time finishing up and stressing that back one more time. I've had back spasms sometimes. Doesn't matter how light the gate is, you still gotta bend over. Dirt monkey just featured a strap door. That'd be perfect for a gate assist. And it speeds up when it wraps the strap.

  5. We’ve got 2 Isuzu crewcabs with the Wilro ramp bed. In my experience they can’t be beat for lawncare. Box trucks with a ramp work well too. The price used is reasonable. Lock it up at night. Use it for sidewalk crews in the winter.

  6. You could certainly put a gate assist on that dovetail. Love the truck except for the tail swing. I have a lawn truck as well. Way better than the truck trailer setup for me.

  7. Interesting set up but definitely not for me! I once rented an Isuzu box truck like that to move some stuff and absolutely hated driving it. I always look forward to driving my truck and trailer every morning so if I had to drive that everyday I would dread going to work.

  8. That is the setup most of us use in the south. Ive had 2 over the years. They are easier to get in and out than a trailer and truck combo. Expensive to work on is the downside. We blow off the mowers and let it roll. Dirty means we are working.

  9. Bro JD are the best!!!
That's the only mower so far it take everything we have done, they are indeed like tanks

  10. That is lots of overhang past the axel. Got to be careful turning and backing. Its too low, drag the hitch comming out of a gas station. I have gas struts and gorilla lifts on my bi fold ramps. I also hang my weed eaters on the rhs behind the box and blower rack is on a swing arm behind the ramps. One trip into the box per stop. Back the mower out, drive it in. Everything else on the side.

  11. He better seal up the cab roof vent. Water will leak down that and corrode your computer and wire harness.

  12. That's a cost saving setup, love the ceiling mount for the tools. Dealer support is huge fellas when buying a mower. Weingartz's offers zero down time with certain purchases, you have a break down if they can't fix or repair within an hour they give you a loaner and your out the door back at work. Great video.

  13. I have one X and two of the C blowers and I prefer the X pull start but the C is more comfortable for larger jobs and cleanups. I like the box van approach. If I wasn’t so heavily invested in my truck and trailers I would love to go that route.

  14. Me and my dad had this discussion the other day. I’ve had a solo operation before but right now I’m in a transitional phase and working for a larger landscape company with 7-8 box trucks. Overall I love a box truck but I think you should only get one if you have a backup truck and trailer setup (like Jeremiah). It is definitely something to think about as it’s easier to train someone to drive. The downside is less flexibility and if these things are down they’re typically going to stay in the shop a while. They’re great if you’re going to continue to grow but as an owner operator setup I might would stay in the ecosystem of a trailer.

  15. I'll wash my equipment before storing it ay for the winter, and when it gets slower half way through the season. Also funny yall said something about bin washing. I actually am trying to start the same thing, but I'm getting no interest where I'm at in Maryland. 🤷🏼

  16. Just saw this box truck today! Awesome setup for sure, I live in trussville and have a landscaping business of my own, I dream to have something like this soon. 18 and in highschool still😅

  17. Imagine how hot it gets in there and the pressure on those gas cans when it’s hot, the gas will come shooting out💀

  18. We are using an Isuzu with landscape bed for the first time this season. So far I love it. Way more maneuverable than my truck and trailer

  19. Nice setup/ Almost like mine inside. I have an 05 NPR with a 16 foot box no dovetail. I am fixing to install a portapotty on mine to cutout bathroom stops. I'll have a tarp to pull for privacy. One thing I noticed on his is I didn't see what's going to prevent his blowers from hitting the floor if they cross a huge bump. I learned the hard way and busted my backpack.

  20. halo.,lots of equipment spaces needing shovels rakes, shrub grinder leaves and making compost to dump in required areas and timy houm, toilets.very good. ❤😊
