  1. I had terrible germination until I found out the cause! I just finished sowing a row of pea seeds and looked over and saw a robin sitting right on my row, looking at me like, "Okay, would you please leave?" I went back and put row cover down the length of the row. I had a hundred percent germination except for one 4 foot section where the row cover blew off, where I had zero germination. Don't doubt that our little two- and four-legged friends are paying attention to what we're doing! The mistake this robin made was not doing it from the distance in a tree. The next challenge is the four-legged kind. Typically I've come back a couple of days after sprouting to find most chewed off at ground level. The mice, voles and chipmunks really like the very tender stems. I left the row cover on until they toughened up when they were 6 or 8 inches high and they all survived.

  2. Last yr was a bad yr to grow anything but zucchini .. why I don’t know. Some say they messed with our seed. I pray I get a lot sewn this yr ❤ beautiful property Kaye 😊
