Teenager Bedroom Makeover || Part One ||

It is finally happening! William is getting a new bedroom!!
While he was away at Disney for a Marching band performance, this eager Mom entirely redesigned his bedroom. Paint, furniture, accessories, the whole thing, from ceiling to floor! The caveat? I only had three days from start to finish! Here is a marathon makeover and possibly one of my best!
In this episode (day one) I empty the room, paint the ceiling and add all new colors.
William picked everything for his room, though I had a few surprises here and there. The theme? Modern Blue!
What about my watch?
It’s a Parsonver Smart Watch and I love it!

  1. Those are great colours and such a professional job of painting it, you are so good at everything you do.

  2. Looks lovely!!! Can’t wait to see the final reveal! And I was totally tearing up seeing Willy on Main Street Disney!! That’s so cool!!! 🥰👏🏻

  3. I'm so impressed by your work and energy. Love the colors. Would love to have a screen showing true colors.

  4. This is so sweet! It looks so good. Willie has good taste in shows. Madoka is a wild ride.

  5. You're a brave woman. You open that can of paint with no drop cloth right on a wood floor. I would have made a big mess.

  6. WOW! Thank you for sharing the FB live. So exciting to see your son in the parade on Main Street at Disney's Magic Kingdom performing It's A Small World! (My daughter and her dance team performed at Disneyland and competed at Disney Workd. We live here now.) The paint colors are absolutely beautiful. Willie will love his room now and always. You're such a great mother! ❤

  7. You are doing phenomenal with this makeover Sophia! Love the colours and it makes the room look larger.
Tip on ceiling fan; I removed my blades on all three, sanded then painted them. (Willie’s would look fantastic black! )
Mine was done 5 years ago and they still look great.

  8. Colors just beautiful!!! You are a phenomenal mother! Can't wait to see it all done!

  9. I think the two blues look great together. I just finished the second coat in my back hallway today so I know what you mean when you say you’re tired. Painting really wears you out. I can’t wait to see what it looks like when you’re all finished with everything!

  10. Oh my goodness! Thank you for sharing the live band performance with us. They look great and the song choice (I don't know why I was surprised) almost brought a tear to my eye. What a wonderful experience!

  11. Exactly what I was thinking about you having just organized your paint box! Made it so handy to have everything together! You are seeing the benefits of being organized. Way to go!!!!

  12. My boys are almost the same age as Sophia’s boys. My younger son wanted a blue room. I painted it blue and we did not like it. At the same time I painted the kitchen yellow and we really did not like it. We called it “a migraine yellow” .It took me long time to complete the job and I felt bad about the result. After a while, my older son came home from collage and painted both kitchen and the bedroom in light pistachio color literally in two-three hours. He worked part time on a painting crew during school breaks. He is so fast and so efficient compared to me. They do not use masking tape and trays. All they use is huge buckets and rollers and brushes

  13. Hello Sophie. I had my doubts about the color combo especially when it was half blue half green… it looked nice as well. I personally like blue and green combinations for children. But when you finished the all the walls oh My 😮 it is so good ❤. Can’t wait to see the complete makeover.

  14. I love the 2 blues it looks great together 👍🏼 can’t wait to see how it’s going to look when it’s all done ♥️ and also the look on your son’s face when he sees it for the 1st time 💙 he’s a very lucky boy to have a mom that worked hard getting it all done specially for him 💙 you did a awesome job painting ♥️

  15. Sophia, I got a tear in my eye, too, when you showed Willie in the marching band. I understand – I know what it's like to be a band mom! ❤❤

  16. I don't comment much but I want to write you have been an inspiration for me for years. ❤WHAT A GREAT MUM 👌

  17. Tip from my dad for glasses and paint slatter. Put clingfilm over glasses. You then only need peel it off and they are clean again.

  18. Sophia, you work so hard, I am really impressed. The colours you painted the room are really great, they are just the colours I love and they go together so well. Switching out the lights for daylight bulbs and changing the shades makes the room really bright. The look on your face of excitement and pride when you saw your son marching was so lovely, it is wonderful that he finally got to march after all the things that the horrible Covid pandemic prevented. I look forward to seeing the finished room and hearing what your son thinks of his mum’s efforts – I am sure he’ll love it.
