Gardening Supplies

Building a garden room? You need to watch this series, everything you need to know.

Day 9 and we are getting plastered!
Not in the pub 😭, Tom has arrived and he is finishing the room.
We are always a bit slow when the room gets skimmed, but we have clad the metal walls and started to run the power and internet to the room from the customers house.
Jen and John paid a visit to Forgales to collect the metal and they let them have look around.
We managed to bend the last piece around the corner so saved on a flashing there but you’ll see the transition between metal and cedar next week now.
Ive tried to explain the pitch calculation for cutting the metal as best I can, hopefully you’ll understand it.

The raffle has picked up pace so hopefully that will be ready to be drawn soon.

  1. Hi Liam, I bought a 6m x 3.5m build pack and it says I need 5×2 by 49 pieces. I roughly calculated needing around 16 for the roof joists and roughly another 6/7 for the over hangs, so where would I use the other 27? It surely doesn’t take the remainder for the front wall 🤔🤔

  2. Hi,going to build a workshed and clad it all in the metal sheeting that ye use on the garden rooms. Would the timber frame layout that ye do be ok for this and also,is the silver line framing nail gun any good? Thanks.

  3. Are you going to resume the camper van build at any time I was looking forward to watching it

  4. Heya Liam, I understand about two battens for cladding. I was planning on 2 sides with metal cladding as won't be seen. Was gonna do front with shiplap horizontally. My question is to fit shiplap horizontal outside batten would have to be vertical, so first batten would be horizontal, would this hold water/ vapour

  5. Not sure how I’ve stumbled upon this page but I love it. Voted and ticket bought. Love the work and how good it looks to work for this company

  6. I read that EPDM is no good for high pitch roofs but noone says why, do you know why that is and why they won't guarantee it on higher pitch roofs?

  7. These vids keep getting better and better – jam packed full of 100% helpful pro advice from each one of you. Great stuff.

  8. Question: Liam, is it absolutely necessary to use the top nut to fix the base to the rods? If the nuts were left off could the structure be craned out in the future? Thanks

  9. Build packs are the shizz! Thinking of buying one? Stop thinking and just do it!

  10. Evening Team,

    Question for you:

I was watching a video you did last week where Northern Plastics had let you down. Yesterday I was down Geldard Road next to the yellow store it place and noticed a building called Eurocell building plastics, have you ever tried using them for the facias and sofits etc ?

Just also wanted to say I've watched every single video that you have done from the start, voted for you guys at the choice awards and bought a ticket for the raffel.

I am around 80% into my build now and wouldn't have attempted it without the amazing detailed help from your videos. Huge thank you Liam and the team for being so brutally honest about everything, pros and cons etc.

Please keep up the great work and funk the haters, they are clearly jealous.
    Sparks.

  11. Great Video guys…..thanks for blowing the mith out of the water that you can't be very good at more than one trade👍🏻

  12. I’m in the planning stages of building a small gaming/live streaming room in my garden. It’s going to be roughly 1600×3000. I’m trying to keep the cost down as much as possible so I’m going to use 2×3 instead of 2×4 and considering going with 600 centres over the 400 centres to save a few pennies on timber. It will also be insulated, plasterboarded (tape and jointed rather than skimmed) Would structure be strong enough to support what iv got planned for it?

  13. Great video, as always guys. Do you ever have any issues with tree roots when you are doing the base with the rod system?

  14. This whole series has been amazing but this is the best one yet – think my partner now thinks I’ve lost it since I’m now spending my time watching a bloke driving a van to various suppliers….

  15. Hi guys. Thanks for answering my question. The Dewalt tool is DT 4587-QZ. 74mm self feed drill bit £24.95 on FFX. Not bothered about the tidiness Liam, but thought this might be quicker. Anything to save time. If you bought one for each job it might work out ok. I think Milwaukee make something similar but twice the price. Needs a high torque drill though. This might actually benefit those without a chainsaw or are scared to use one. 26:50

  16. Liam I’m ready for the next video now. I’ve just finished work and got myself a bag of doritos. Ready when you are……. 😉

  17. I just got a quote here in Ireland for a 3 panel bifold door. €6,150 and €850 for installation. I was expecting around €2800 but would that price be correct as it seems extortionate?

  18. Might sound bonkers, but I like the look of the metal cladding for all the exterior walls, would it work with window / door reveals?

  19. hi, for the rods, do you use steel ones, stainless steel or zinc plated etc? cheers 🙂

  20. These are great videos, what a team. Jen is coming into her own with her presenting. She will have her own channel soon. Great stuff.

  21. Could you use the paint that comes with VL boards if cutting profile sheets with grinder???
