  1. Interesting. I didn't know birds ate the pea shoots. I've had struggles growing those over the years

  2. This is our first year making an honest attempt in the garden, I built 3 raised terrace beds from one of your other videos already, have a 10’x20’ greenhouse I stick built with 8’ walls and 14’ high in the center, adding cattle panels as a hanging ceiling/trellis for cucumbers and cherry tomatoes and peas and what not, also adding some raised beds in the GH and building a few 4’x12’ raised beds for the yard as well. Have over 300 seedlings planted in the closet and stuff just started breaking soil yesterday, never thought I’d be as excited about growing food as building cars, thanks for the ideas and encouragement James, LETS GO!

  3. I started using Surround WP on my fruit trees and now I will for sure use on cucumbers. Thanks.

  4. The birds will eat the tomato worms too though. Toads and frogs too. But where there are frogs there are snakes!😱

  5. I don’t care how bad a day that you’ve had, it will be better after watching any of James’ videos….

  6. Wow, terrific advice regarding the seedlings. I rarely have trouble with animals, as there are bigger animals which eat them. I can’t put kitchen scraps in the compost pile because of the bears, though. So I have one small barrel composter in the garage for that. I guess we all have our own different problems depending on our area!

  7. Great advice as always. Did you ever think to put up a time-lapse camera ? I shot an hour would make 1 day a second at 24 FPS. Would be neat to see your garden grow.

  8. Awesome information. Now I won't loose seedlings soon as I've put them out. James, I have had birds and groundhogs actually wait till I come into the house so they can go grab a snack from the seedlings. I won't have to worry about them now! New merch is looking really nice! You and Tuck work so hard. Thanks to you both!

  9. I love the “Flower of Life”. I will definitely check it out tomorrow ❤

  10. Awesome! Thank you!!!
Have you heard of ELECTROCULTURE gardening?? (it’s with the use of copper wire)

  11. I tried growing brassicas from seed twice this year. I gave up. Both times they became leggy and fell over. I had the seed in seed starter soil and on heating mat. I had them in window sunlight. Don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Any ideas?

  12. Biggest mistake I've made with my own seedlings? My grow shelf does not have the proper grow lights. Apparently each bulb is only 800 lumens, which is way too low. A lot of my seedlings grew too leggy and keeled over at the first hint of stress. It's recommended that your grow lights have at least 3,000 lumens, but ideally they should have 7,000 lumens per sq ft.

  13. Thanks,I want to know the way to sprout minor seeds, like strawberry. Can I do this way for strawberry 🍓.And thanks again for sharing your knowledge

  14. I’m just building a bio dome 😂
Because raised beds are so pricey to complete and dry out rapidly for my area I’m going back to wide in ground long rows. It will be so much easier to hoop and cover and irrigate. It will also relieve frost/freeze anxiety. Those cabbage worms are not getting into the Brussels this year. We have to fence everything. I can’t believe you caught a woodchuck. I’m sure you didn’t use a garbage can. We had only 1 and he disappeared in a hurry. They are so destructive to not just the garden, but foundations and cement steps.
It’s very expensive and depressing to lose plants to wildlife. And yes, it takes such a Long time for the growing season to start and for fruit plants to produce that I can’t afford (time/money) not to protect the plants.
    Great points, thanks!

  15. I love how he gets into the topics for discussion without wasting half a video first and then having to watch the rest of the video to find out what he is talking about. Other videos dance the long road around things and their video is nearly finished before they nearly give hints you need. James does a great job getting his points across and I love repeating his videos to recap, pick up on what I may have missed or want to learn more. James has knowledge, experience and passion giving the viewers great insight, hints and tips and is an excellent Chanel to subscribe and follow. Great work James and of course Tuck ❤

  16. I agree with most of your advice but I can say from experience that Neem oil doesn't work and can actually do alittle damage to the plant. Also, Squash Beatles hang out under the leaves and on the stems so I'm not sure how the clay helps but I haven't tried that one personally so I'll give it a try.

  17. It’s nice idea. I have slugs and I need to put my seedlings up on a wire hang shelf to protect them. Otherwise bye bye seedlings. Thx

  18. Hi James and hi to Tuck also. I have lots of birds. As seedlings sprout in the garden and transplanting into the garden, I sprinkle crushed eggshells for the nesting birds that need the calcium. Birds have a water source. Trees near by for nesting. Thanks for the reminder of interplanting to confuse the pests. Zone 6b Ct.
Praying for the conditions we need for a bountiful harvest.

  19. I know you've talked about Surround kaolin clay to protect fruit trees from the plum curculio but where do you get it? I've got one tree, I don't need a million pound bag of it….
    Thank you!!

  20. Wish those who read this comment will have a lot of luck and lots of happiness in life🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

  21. You should get Tuck a friend! Get a cat that likes to be outdoors. I had never been a cat person…litter box/hair/smell in the house. Our cat loves being outside…mice are gone….rabbits have not been seen in the yard…plus, being an outdoor lover, the litter bin hardly needs to be changed.

  22. Thanks for the information on protecting your garden from pest. My garden was hit hard by heavy pest pressure and a lack of rain last year. I just ordered insect netting to protect my brassicas. I also planted my first fruit tree!!!

  23. A couple of weeks ago I popped the lid off my pepper seedlings so they would get air. Came home from work and our cat had eaten 15 of them.

  24. Thanks I am in NJ too. I had a horrible seed starting experience so far this year and you helped me identify the problems. Fortunately I started so early I can restart the process. Thanks again.

  25. I was wondering if the clay was effective on aphids? I seem to get right many ever year on my peas. I have used just water hose spray and also the same neem oil James shows in the video, however, the little green monsters keep coming back.

  26. James! Did you build your greenhouse or was it an existing structure when you moved in and maybe you made some changes? Maybe a video on that?
