Garden with Me & March Allotment Tour 2023

In this slightly longer episode than usual, I set about completing a few jobs from my to-do list on a gorgeous spring afternoon. We’ll cut back the wildlife corner and see what perennials are appearing. I also have some new plants to get into the ground! The polytunnel is slowly filling up with seedlings but now the big seed sowing marathon really begins…

  1. Me, being an old romantic, a new growing tree. I can imagine you and your husband to be and of course the children to come looking at it while BBQ time and remembering planting it the year you got married. If not a fruit tree, a nice Rowan, good for wildlife and folklore. Can always have a climber as well, it doesn't have to be dead, lol

  2. Looking forward to watching this video later. Love watching your channel, lots of ideas to help me with my first allotment this year. 😊

  3. Love to watch you working your garden. I'm envious as we still have some freezing temps. Maybe keep the tree for one more year, try a white or yellow Black Eyed Susie Vine, Thunbergia. A cute, simple flowering vine on the tree will make a lovely garden statement that all things in nature have a purpose. Hope your wedding plans are all coming together smoothly!

  4. Vegetables , fruits 🌿 & crops & foods we eat. This is real lifestyle hobbies No need to waste our 🕙 just sitting watching. More productive ways life like to go thanks

  5. Maybe you could inoculate that dead tree with some mushroom plugs, perhaps an oyster variety or chicken of the woods. It would look awesome, taste awesome and I'm sure it would also do a pretty awesome job at breaking it down naturally including the root system.

  6. I think a Star Jasmine would look gorgeous climbing up your old plum tree 🥰 and it’s evergreen 🥰 lovely tour and I cannot wait for everything to burst into colour soon 🥰

  7. A climber with an obelisk/pyramid climbing support would be good – low maintenance and it looks beautiful when they bloom. Some climbers also produce fruits and it would be fun to watch how they grow 😀

  8. Csrnt wait to see your tulips I planted all mine out last October and wow absolutely stunning so proud of my hard work since last October iv even did a new lawn started in October it got all the good weather rain it had settled b4 the frost late November it looks a little patchy but after watching you do yours it's a job for the weekend happy gardning everyone

  9. lovely, thankyou……..i think you are probably 4 or 5 weeks ahead of us ( NE scotland), but lovely to see you progressing with the "plot"

  10. such a lovely video, thank you!
i've been sowing lots of vegetable seeds already and this year i'm also growing flowers for the first time (except for sunflowers, which i have grown before). i'm really excited for this growing season and excited to follow along with you on the alotment. 🌷

  11. Another fabulous video, so much to learn from it too, your allotment is very big, how long have you had it ?

  12. The whole allotment looks wonderful, the grass has made such a difference, just lovely. I'm happy you got your diablo, can't wait to see it grow 😊

  13. Ho hum – I think my potted penstemons have both bitten the dust – no sign of sprouts like yours! Same goes for a pineapple sage, too… Very sad; that ten days constant frost was just too much. Hoping for a dryish weekend to get another bit of old shrub border cleared. Why not try a greengage instead of your plum – they make such lovely fruit?

  14. It is really weird to be watching this from Northern California and seeing the sun shining over your blooming garden when mine is still getting pummeled by the rain brought by one atmospheric river after another. Climate change is real.

  15. You should be presenting on Gardener's World. You're a natural! Knowledgeable, enthusiastic and always smiling! First time watching one of your videos…won't be the last! Oh hang on! I did watch one of you planting potatoes in pots!
I'm just starting to create a kitchen garden with raised beds, containers, potatoes in bags etc and seeing your plot is really inspirational.

  16. Another great video.. I love the idea of planting a new Tree to mark a new chapter in life.. A beautiful cherry tree to symbolise a love that blossoms. 😘

  17. Looking good on your plot. I’ve lost half of a plum tree due to cold weather too, not sure if I should cut the dead half off yet…as it’s dead I don’t suppose it matters too much !

  18. It must be nice to have things growing already! There is still like 2 feet of snow covering the ground here, I haven't seen grass in 5 months 😭😭

  19. oooh leave the dead plum tree, many mini animals rely on dead trees, and our desire to chop them all down to make things tidy isn't always helpful. Dead trees for the critters, yay!

  20. Much like yourself, I’ve been out sorting the lawn and veg beds. Bring on the new season of growth!
