@Kim Ellsworth….be careful w the weight ur adding to your floors in your mobile home…..u may want to add concrete blocks and wood shims under your floors before they pull away at the edges as I've heard they can do……I do bucket and green stalk gardening as well. Thank you for doing this video I do dehydrate and or can everything in my garden and I’m pretty well stocked up on a lot of the things I use but I have noticed I use more onions than anything else so I live in town and I’m gonna have to start planting onions in buckets and I also plant onions in my flowerbeds along with my flowers and you know my onions are getting big and looking good When I put them in the ground with my flowers

I too was raised by Depression aged folks and we reused various items, including bags, etc.
Later, my husband and I purchase FREEZER style ZipLock bags. They cost a bit more, but they are SO MUCH more DURABLE than regular ZipLocks!
We wash them and dry them and reuse them, perhaps a dozen or more times each!
Even if a ZipLock gets a hole in it, I use a permanent marker and draw a large X over the hole. We use these bags to … organize cords, cards, pens, electronics, phone accessories, seldom used kitchen tools, individual serving packets of ketchup, mustard, mayo, to carry books while traveling so they don’t get dog-eared, car registration in glove box, photographs, business cards in purse and travel trailer, separation of socks and underwear in trailer drawer, collection of stocking caps and misc. head gear, gloves, wrapping paper , paper goods, extra plastic utensils, picnic napkins, receipts, matches, souvenir items from trips, even dryer lint, which is wonderful for tinder to start a campfire with a single spark!
NOTE: We only use NEW / fresh bags for storage of food.
Your channel popped up on my feed, nice to find ! I subscribed , I like your mentality and Christian values. Reading the book One Second After made me reevaluate my stuff. My parents grew up before and during the great depression they saved lots of odds and ends. You just never know when you will need something and if it's a SHTF scenario truly happens, beyond their fear tactics, the last place you want to venture out to is the store. That's the difference between making it or being in a manure show. Time is precious in some situations.

I purchased three of the used 50 gal barrels, but they previously contained sardines. Ew, I can't get the smell out! Help! Can someone give me ideas? I've tried chlorine, newspapers, bleach cleansers….Still smells. I even left them outside for several months. I'm concerned the smell will permeate anything I place inside. Thank you for your input.
