  1. Edit to add: I searched "18 Gal clearance" and found $52 for 8, sold and shipped by Wally!
I checked wally mart. All they have are Chinese sellers for the buy 8 sets. None are sold and shipped by Wally, but it says 30 days return And return to store. Omg, the same set of fascia 8 totes are being sold on Amazon for over $200!! 😳

  2. And there are ways of getting 'free' plastic containers if you live in the right places. They're not so big as the ones Robbie has there, admittedly, but I use them all the time, and all it took was a bit of searching around.

If you live fairly close to a beach, plastic drums and crates often get washed ashore. I don't touch the ones that are still sealed and are full of mysterious liquids obviously.
But, generally speaking, when these things are thrown off or washed overboard a fishing boat or wherever they come from, they don't have their caps affixed and have been thoroughly sea-washed.
A little work to cut off the top of the drum and make some holes somewhere in the base, and that's a free planter. I have about a dozen of these (white and clear containers tend not to last too long, but black, green and blue ones I've had for 10 years and they look like they can last another 10 at least).

I'm also surrounded by farmland, mainly animal farming, and that's a great place to find free containers.
Farmers put out buckets of feed like molasses during the Spring months, and then they often leave them in the corner of fields where get stepped on or blow about, or they get thrown into ditches on the other side of the fence.
In fact, it is amazing just how many treasures I have found in ditches alongside farm fields, especially offcuts of fencing reels. These just get left to rust, but I have rescued a few offcuts and have made arches for peas and beans out of them.

  3. Ikea Ikea Ikea, the Sambla containers are available in many different sizes (even with wheels underneath, handy for a balcony) and the price for 40 liters is 6.98 (Euro)

  4. That was a great video. I get all my totes mostly from Goodwill and storage units when they have auctions. They are really cheap. Thanks for sharing this info 😊 have a great day and happy gardening 🌿🌱😊🤗

  5. I find the downside of growing in buckets and totes is it makes for a very cluttered untidy garden.

  6. Yesterday was a beautiful day here. I did as much outdoors work as possible. I also put out 2 hummingbird feeders (barely any food) for now because I KNOW it's too early. I simply couldn't resist the temptation. While it is still cool, I will clean them every 3 days. 😊 Due to being busy, it took me 5 tries to watch your video. I'm glad I did, thoroughly enjoyed it. Have a blessed week.

  7. I've noticed this happening for over a year now. I assumed it was because stores were trying to get people back into the brick and mortar buildings so we do impulse buying. I live in a small town that has terrible shopping so I've been ordering online for years. I've also noticed they say they are out of stock on an item via the app but if you go into the store that same day, you find what you need. That makes me want to scream…😮

  8. Different plastics are not safe for growing food because they off-gas. You can pickup 5 gal. Buckets from Home Depot that are food safe. No not the orange ones … the white ones.

  9. What a wealth of information! Thank you so much! I’m sure I’ll be learning a lot more from you ! I’m a new subscriber 😁

  10. Thank you for sharing this video! Yes, you really do have to dig through listings to get the good prices. Also, you do not have to have the membership at Walmart to get free shipping. You just have to spend $35.00 or more. I have never paid for shipping as long as my order has been at least $35.00. Thank you again for all of the great information you always share with us!

  11. Dollar General had them for six dollars last weekend, just saying! I have several now thanks to you and your wonderful advice!

  12. Hi Robbie!
I was shocked to see a regular 18 gal gray Sterlite tote at GOODWILL FOR $10!! It looked banged up too. I didn't cave and get it since I know they are cheaper BRAND NEW at stores. I LOVE the brightly colored ones and am on the lookout for them. Not sure I need 8 yet…

  13. thnx for sharing. I am currently setting up my new garden area I have been covering an area up with cardboard and dumping my kitchen scraps and coffee grounds since last year, a few days ago I got some help, and we again covered that area with more cardboard to make sure the grass was smothered then covered that with woodchips. We put my double cattle panel hoop house over the center of the chips and have tubs and a couple chairs with tubs to line against the panels. I bought some black kow compost, and loaded up some dead wood from fallen limbs and tore up wet cardboard in small pieces for the bottom of the tubs then filled them halfway with the compost. I'm looking forward to planting when it gets warm enough. I can't wait to get some spandex to give some pops of color and design to the area.

  14. Thank you, this info is applicable for practically everything you order online from Wally World. Wish I'd known this before the 2 month long horror I went through 😩🤬

  15. I wish ALL of your videos were long!!! Even if every one of them were all 2 hours long, it still wouldn't be enough time spent with you, Gary and precious Kitty! Love the video!

  16. Thanks Robbie!! On my shopping trip today I saw totes from Walmart — and for upper Midwest folks there are 18 gal and 20 gal sterilite totes. I think the Menards store had Christmas green with a red lid and Fleet Farm had gray both under $6.00….. But our Walmart had gorgeous colors for 6.98 in the Blue Ash and Green ……

  17. Excellent advice as always Robbie! I've had that experience with Amazon 3rd party. Total pain for returns amd the company only offered 60% refund. Wasn't sold by Amazon, 3rd party, so they can do that. Needless to say, I kept the items and was able to gift them. What a pain in the arse!
