  1. My buddy works for Fry’s (Kroger in Arizona) and the way they run things and how they treat the employees is really bad. Even he says less competition is not good plus they will close some of Albertsons, Safeway, and Vons stores so some employees will lose their jobs or have their hours cut.

  2. Where I live, our Safeway is the ONLY grocery store for 75 miles. Safeway is owned by Albertson. My fear is that the bean counters in some far away corporate office will decide that our store is not profitable enough and close it.

  3. Here’s the irony: wealthy Americans don’t shop at Kroger or Albertsons. It won’t effect them. And in the Washington DC area where politicians live- none.

  4. Thank you for the information. Just keep on doing what we have been doing everyone

  5. I used to shop at Kroger I noticed there prices went up real fast. The only thing I get at Kroger now is things that are on sale. I mean a good sale . I can't stand walmart. I shop at Meijer or the commisionary. They have some of the best prices. I am glad that I have been prepping for years. Thanks Autumn prep pray and always be thankful and let GOD that you are.

  6. Yes I live in Casper Wyoming we have Walmart, Albertsons, Smith, and one little farm store called Ridley's if Albertsons and Smiths merges we will lose two major grocery stores in this in this town do to them calling it a Monopoly that's what happened last time when Albertsons came in and bought out Buttery & Osco drug and when Albertsons bought Safeway's since 2000 we have lost 4 large grocery stores in this City population keeps increasing and the stores are closing because of buyouts

  7. Well I'm going to disagree with you and this is the reason why when you have a merger such as this that means you're going to be buying in Greater quantities when you buy in Greater quantities you usually get the stuff for cheaper price they can pass that price on to the consumer and that's the consumer saves money and it's not monopolizing anyting they still have to compete with Walmart and as long as you have competition it's not a monopoly

  8. Our egg prices for exape are all over the place. Right now a dozen costs less than $3, before that they were over $5. It's really strange now the costs updates so much in a short period of time.

  9. I prep for my furbabies too and I went to Sam's club last week to pick up some dog food for my babies and I buy Pedigree but they were completely out of what I buy but they had plenty of the more expensive dog food such as Blue Buffalo etc… they used to have the 57 pound bags of Pedigree for $30 but now you pay the same price for only 44 pounds. I'm gonna go back this week and hopefully they will have it back in stock and I'm gonna pick up extra, also the price of eggs has come down but it's hard to find them because their just not in good supply.

  10. Where we live we have HEB they are a regional chain. They are known to be a good employer and a good corporate neighbor. They are always.first in to help during any emergency. We don't really have any other grocery stores other than a few Hispanic markets and Walmart. Our groceries are usually more reasonable on many items than I see talked about in other places. HEB also has a line of items that are sourced completion Texas which I like.

  11. Love you for all you do and all the time you put into researching everything. I appreciate how much time goes into all you present. God Bless You! It is like family here.

  12. Our shopping options where I work are a chain grocery store, Walmart & dollar stores. If we drive 20-25 minutes away, there are 3 grocery stores. We shop the BOGOs & weekly sales at least every 2 weeks or so at the Publix there. Its really saved us a lot of money over the past 2 years or so.

  13. Kroger owns Fred Meyer, Safeway and Albertsons are also conjoined. Bad news for where I am.

  14. Thanks Autumn. We're a big family of 8. Grandma, dad, mom, and 5 grands. We're limited here as to town store options. Only dad works. No food stamps, but I do go to local food bank once every 2weeks. It helps. She's breastfeeding the youngest. But we sale shop, clearance shop, and discount and salvage store. Not close to Bulk shopping. But we have a pantry. Yes Groceries are a struggle and it's gotten worse for the last 9 months. Wishing for a canner. We do small areas of gardens but I only have .51 of an acre. Keep preparing. Don't stop. No V here either. Not ever.

  15. I work full time and with rent high, PG&E and food doesn’t leave much left over for anything else. I haven’t even been able to fix my car. I thank you because I use my preps when I need to and will restock when necessary.

  16. Just went through breast cancer surgery. Thank you for helping me stay positive and FEAR LESS. watch every video and love you , girl!

  17. High grocery bill is what you get when cutting oil production are present administration is clueless dew to the facts he's showing us were heading right for a recession and this idiot is showing no sign of intelligences, meat, milk bread some cleaning supplies potatoes and a few other items one hundred and eleven dollars , . four plastic bags. . FJB

  18. Grow Your own food…cut out what does not feed the body nutrients.
    .eat less

.come on now, eating less will help all maintain a healthy state..you do not have to fear 😨..

Just grow a garden….eat less meat…that suff you have your selves stocked up on, is full of preservatives which cause cancer…

And tending a garden is good for the Mind,Body, Heart, Spirit ..

Your world is dying that is why food is going up…farmers will not be able to produce large volumes anymore…

Be Smart 😜 or be Dead…do not count on others to feed You….

  19. From what I can see in the background, I would never buy half or more of that food related stuff. Buy meat when on sale. We buy odd-cuts of pork loins which I trim-down into loins, stew and burger. We buy chicken when on sale as well. We cook at home. Steer clear of most processed foods. Buy the basics and construct meals from that. Wife and I spend on average around $250.00 monthly on food related items. We also have a second fridge. Processed food should be avoided because such is expensive and typically unhealthy to eat.

  20. Let me give you some information about the mom-and-pop stores.
JS Dillon & Sons we're started in Sterling, Kansas. The Dillon family all lived in Hutchinson, Kansas and still do, a lot of them.
I went to school with the Dillon kids that were very humble, kind & serving people! Never ever snobs!!
I remember my grandparents doing the credit tab with the Mr. Dillon that started the Dillons stores. Unfortunately they sold to Kroger several years ago.
Here in my hometown the store signs still say DILLONS not Kroger though.

  21. Paying way too much, can't wait for the Garden. Hitting Kroger this week for sales, roast is on sale

  22. Yesterday I went grocery shopping just to grab a couple things they charge me $60 for two bags of groceries no meat no poultry no fish it was all things that an average person has in the refrigerator like butter bread tomatoes potatoes celery lettuce 4 dollars a head for iceberg lettuce I paid 7 dollars for a bag of Lays potato chips family size I bought mustard ketchup mayonnaise a pack of bologna and a few other things in a cost me $60 and it only filled up two bags

  23. Monopolies are the worse, look up Meat packing here in the US 4 major companies dictate it all, what they pay ranchers and what they set the price of meat they sell. Look at the baby formula like 3 makers and 1 goes down its crisis. This country food wise and many others is falling apart becoming rich class only all others struggle to survive. Its getting were only the rich can do anything, sporting events, concerts, flying, driving enjoying recreational things. I live in Arizona and see lower income people getting priced out I'm one of them. Take example i live 37 miles south of lake Alamo state park i bought a boat cheap but by the time i pay the gas and the fishing license and the 10.00 to use the park area it gets expensive just to enjoy the lake for few hours. But i see the rich with there 50k trucks and 40k bass boats going up there nonstop all the time, i know cause i live on the only road to the State park.
And i don't see it getting any better anytime soon just the new normal.

  24. For 2 cartons of 18 eggs each, 1 package of tortilla shells, two 3 lb bags of onions, 2 garlic, 1 celery, 5 lbs russet potatoes, 1 pkg of chicken sausage, 2 loaves of bread, 2 lbs butter, 5 lbs flour, 1 pkg bagels, 2 knors bullion small jars, and 4 ginger brew sodas totaled just over $100.The week before I bought 10 one pound packages of ground beef for $100. This was my monthly budget for groceries.

Last year, the same dollar amount would also include fresh vegetables, fruit, a couple steaks, and more bagels with cream cheese. I am having a couple raised beds built and a 7 ft high fence for my back yard. Had to have a fence as my yard is visited by wild rabbits, foxes, coyotes, skunks, and other undesirable critters.

  25. needs to be said they say inflation is like 13% here in Arizona well the 5 years i have lived here i go to the same store and buy the same things i have seen things go up 35-40% and some have doubled. Why? corporate greed? I clip and go online cause safeway does digital coupons only its a pain in the ass but i do save a lot. Now i see tons of people no coupons no care what so ever about what they pay and as long as people just pay nothing will ever change, gas, airfare ect.

  26. My local Fry's owned by Kroger have eliminated 2/3rd of their cashiers and baggers to replace them with 10 self check outs. This store is crowded, long lines at check out, and during the day all I saw was 2 deli workers, 1 bakery clerk, 2 meat clerks, 2 cashiers, 1 CS clerk, 1 clerk watching all the self check out stations.

  27. I see an opportunity to share my otherworldly experience the last time I went to town in early March. I go to town every few months, so I don't get pacified by the slow creep. Tripled prices on the juice, very dented cans on the shelf they kind they used to take down, empty spaces where stuff used to be. We have one dollar general in town, I suspect pretty soon we will have none…P.S. we also have one grocery store, and the meat and bread are through the roof. I'm glad I started stocking up long ago because those who didn't are in for it👀
