  1. If you have a candle that still has some wax in it but you aren’t going to burn it anymore put it in the freezer and leave it overnight. The next day take it out and turn it upside doesn’t and the wax should fall out.

  2. I like the large pre-moistened disposable washcloths from DT. They come in a pack of 18. They're more substantial than baby wipes; great for staying clean when you don't have water.

  3. Great $25 DT Budget Emergency Supplies Preparedness Haul, Jinne! I saw a few things that I added to my DT shopping list. TFS!

  4. Thank you, so much, for this great haul.
I always enjoy, the hauls you show, and it is a great reminder.
    Thanks again. 🙏👍🌟✝️👏🌷☘️💫

  5. Those hydration packets tastle like lemonade with some salt. Lol Tried them one time I wasn't feeling so well on a hot day. Love the info you give and especially these hauls from dollar tree.

  6. Wow, I think you did really well for $25 Jinne.👍
TFS HC, take care & keep really busy everyone. ❤🙂🐶

  7. We have the push lights in our camper and in about every room in our house. When the power goes off we can push them and not fumble around for our solar lights , flashlighs and candles. Very handy! Our DT has never had the wound kits and although we have several they haven't had tarps in a month or more. Good haul!

  8. Thanks! You have reminded me I need to keep checking for tarps and the gauze kits. I'll be doing my every 6 week run this weekend.

  9. WOW amazing how much stuff you can get for 25 dollars. I love the way you look at everything and make sure all bases covered. Last week my elderly female neighbor with early dementia managed to pour a pan of hot oil over her arm. Thankfully she rang me, I'm a registered nurse and we get on well. I was horrified after keeping her arm under cold water tap that she didn't have any cling foil. That is what you put on a burn victim until you get to hospital. Anyways she is doing well now. Dont forget your cling foil for burns Jinnie. Keep WARM…

  10. I’m so impressed with the first aid/gauze kits. If I went to a WM for that, I’d spend $30+ on just the first aid items. Excellent haul with great advice!

  11. I found those solar lights for a dollar at the dollar store and at Walmart I use them outside but they don't last to long

  12. Some of my favorite dollar store nonfood items that are good for emergencies or camping:
    1) quart size and gallon size food storage bags for the gear or the dry food in your backpack to keep out moisture on rainy days
    2) roll of regular or heavy-duty aluminum foil to use in camp stove or campfire cooking (make cooking packets or line a skillet for easy clean-up)
    3) clothes pins and cordage for air drying handwashed socks and underwear
    4) dark color duct tape for temporary repairs to torn clothing, a failing boot sole or to re-enforce a weakened strap
    5) mini size butane lighters
    6) lawn trash bags to make disposable raincoats
    7) kitchen trash bags to line the five-gallon bucket of a homemade composting toilet
    8) a couple of plastic shower curtains to make a rain shelter or use as ground cloths
    9) travel size toiletries (deodorant, toothpaste, dental floss, lotion…)
    10) travel size containers for your shampoo and detergent
    11) Solanpas or similar brand of pain patches for that aching back
    12) a manual can opener that has a bottle opener
    13) cloth tote bags for carrying heavy canned foods or bags of rice or dried beans in your vehicle (less likely to burst than disposable plastic bags and fits better into odd spaces compared to rigid boxes)
    14) folding pruning saw for harvesting small dead branches for campfire kindling
    15) a packet of ball point pens and a note pad so you can leave written messages
    16) assortment of bungie cords to help corral awkward size/shape gear (such as an RV water hose) and other supplies you want to load into your bug out vehicle
    17) some cheap paperback novels and inexpensive puzzle books and crossword books for adults for those long days when the local power grid is down and you are sheltering in place because of a weather emergency.

  13. I bought the expanding soil from Dollar Tree. Sprouting seeds indoors. We have had so much rain and snow in the Mid-South. Will not be able to prep garden for another couple of weeks. All your ideas are great.

  14. I love your cat tote, Jinne. Do you remember where you got it? I used to get my triple antibiotic cream at DT until I found Dr. Sheffield's brand at Walmart. It's only 88¢ there.

  15. The jars that the candles come in are not for canning. “Mason” refers to the screw lid type. I would not risk pressure canning in the candle jars.

  16. DT has gel packs and hard cased ice packs. Good to keep in the freezer for swelling and also for heat relief.

  17. The wound care kits are very nice, our Dollar Tree doesn't consistently carry them but nice to have on hand. I gave one to our son when he was home for the holidays, I added more tape, a tube of ointment and some regular band-aids. He recently cut his hand and the kit came in handy to have all of what he needed. Heard an interesting tip about toothbrushes, apparently dentists are finding that the curved or wave bristles don't clean as well as just a regular brush, so now they are saying soft bristle straight line brushes work better. The push lights are great in case the power goes out. I always like how you explain why you bought each item and what you will use them for.

  18. You are so lucky to have Dollar Tree, we have nothing like this in Australia, I’d be looking at paying at least $60 or $70 for all of this and some things I could not even get.

  19. Save your money on that little carabiner light. The switch is real flimsy on it. I wished I could find more of those wound kits, around us. I have only been able to pickup a couple of them.

  20. I cannot find those “soil” bricks at the DT stores in my area in Florida. The garden area is very small.

  21. Man! your DT is awesome. I went in mine on Tuesday and they always seem to be restocking but noting on the shelves.

  22. I never find all the great things you show, but I make a list that I always keep updating and look each time I shop and at different $Trees. Could you mention the area you find some of the more unusual items? I know every store is probably different, but it might be a starting point.

  23. Really like your hauls 😊 regarding items I feel we forget in a home made first aid kit are scissors..

  24. The amount of stuff in the gauze kit is great I was surprised. I'll be updating my emergency kit with these things from Dollar tree. Thanks for sharing.

  25. I have one of those puck push lights in my doorway outside, that way if I come home after dark, I have a handy light to unlock the door, and I don't advertise that I'm not home with the main outdoor light on.
