Welcome! I have SUCH a special video for you all today. My grandmother, Beverly and I spent the day at the historic Filoli Gardens and Estate. It is about 30 miles south of San Francisco and all I can say is that if you are ANYWHERE near these gardens, go see it for yourself. It was lovely and inspiring and I can’t wait for my next trip! 🌷 Enjoy!

Wow just wow
Lots of weeping cherry trees at SummerWinds garden center last week. We have a weeping pussy willow tree [Salix discolor] that blooms lovely yellow blooms [March-April] after the pussy willows are all exposed [Feb-March]. Z9b/Sunset 17 SF Bay Area. Trimmed a few times a year to keep it at 7’.
Bourn's son, William Bowers Bourn II, acquired the Empire Mine near Nevada City in 1896 forming the Empire Mines and Investment Co. In 1897, he commissioned Willis Polk to design the "Cottage", using waste rock from the mine. The "Cottage" included a greenhouse, gardens, fountains and a reflecting pool. Between 1898 and 1905, a clubhouse with tennis courts, bowling alley and squash courts were built nearby. The Empire Mine is now a California State Park that is open daily from 10 am to 4 pm and contains the mine’s buildings, the owner’s stately mansion, restored gardens, as well as the entrance to 367 miles of abandoned and flooded mine shafts.

How gorgeous! You and your fam should visit the Huntington Botanic Garden near Pasadena Janey. It's huge, and every corner is a themed Garden.

Janie, thank you for sharing this beautiful garden with us. The word beautiful is not adequate to describe this garden. You calling the meadow heaven is a good description. But Janie, Heaven will be even more beautiful than we can describe. Your grandmother was dressed perfect for that picture! She looks precious. That garden visit will be a great memory for you both.

Oh Janey! My daughter was married in Saratoga on June 25th last year and the day after we toured this garden. Amazing! She lives in Dan Mateo now and looking forward to visiting this garden every season! Gorgeous!❤
