Garden Tour MY Free Soil Winter Plants will be Compost Soon Growing Vegetables, Container Gardening

  1. Robbie I started growing my container garden almost three years now. The biggest challenge is what to do with all the food in reference to how to store the various vegetables. Thanks!

  2. Thanks for making this video. Can you make a video like this for tumeric also?
Both seem to be an issue for me to keep alive. The plants i bought endef up dying.
Of course my compost grew a beaytiful one of the two, i get then mixed up. Lived til the cold killed. But intentionally trying to grow either hasnt been a strong point for me

  3. Robbie, didn't you say in previous videos that ginger spreads out horizontally while turmeric will grow wherever it can find space and pack the whole pot? Maybe people bury ginger deeper thinking they'll grow more of it with the plant spreading horizontally and above.

Thank you for the video. I'm gonna have to check our pots of ginger. We forgot them all winter and the temperatures have been freezing here for several weeks. I hope we didn't lost it all.

As a side note, I remember from a past video that you said you had a trick to get your purple collards to get leaves more purple-ish. But I don't remember if you gave away that secret. I'm planning to try growing Red Russian kale this year. Would you be so kind as to share that tip, either here in the comment section or in a future video? Or if you've already done it, can someone point me to the video please?

  4. Robbie thank you for the idea of the soil sifter, I'm making one for my soil so I can have the soft loomy soil for my seeds💞🥰💞

  5. HI ROBBIE, THANK FATHER GOD WE ARE SAFE IN TEXAS AFTER LAST NIGHT. I WAS PRAYING 🙏 🤲 FATHER GOD IS AWESOME. 🙏 🙌

  6. Thanks for sharing. I like growing ginger. It's a beautiful plant. I'll make a video this season when I plant some more. Have a great weekend and happy gardening 🌿🌱😊🤗

  7. I started my ginger indoors early and I got some lil sprouts. I cant wait to see the results. I live in chicago but the grow lights are keeping them nice and warm and they love it!

  8. Thank you for teaching us how to grow ginger! I use it a lot and never thought about growing my own until I started watching your videos a few months ago. Kitty wants more broccoli 🥦 lol.

  9. Hi Robbie! Thank you for the confirmation regarding just how to grow both tumeric and ginger!!

  10. Robbie, you will never guess what happened where I live in Michigan! Remember the other day when you had thunder and snow? Well, for the first time in my life there was thunder with this major snowstorm we are having right now. Unbelievable and so not normal. Or natural! Unfortunately, my gazebo is sadly damaged from this heavy snow.

  11. Thanks Robbie, great video. I'm having a go at growing some thanks to your instruction. Ha ha, no flies on Kitty!!!🥦

  12. Robbie, I stuck a coupe pieces of ginger/turmeric in one of your 20 gallon tote. Used decaying wood and table scrapes to fill the bottom half, made soil for the top half. Here in the northeast, the season is really not long enough. At the end of season I brought them inside and put the tote in a grow tent for the winter. Had a few issues with the brightness of my grow lights and dialed it way back, so you are correct about them liking shade from the sun. I am amazed at the growth so far and will use as needed and have a perpetual harvest. Would love to send you guys a picture.

  13. There ain’t no microbes or anything else good in your water that was collected after your rinse the ginger ….if you are using city water , chlorinated, pesticides, and fluorinated water , …you just killed everything good in that soil .

  14. Thanks, Robbie and cute Kitty! 😃 I enjoy ginger in our food and growing it. I expect to do even better this year by following your advice. You certainly know how to grow it!👍

  15. How much soil it actually need, it seems like after decomposed only half way of pot height soil left. 😊

  16. Hi Robbie, love your videos! I’ve learned so much. Can you do an updated video on how to refresh totes after a long period of being left overwinter? I had mine mulched with leaves and covered with cardboard just in case, not exactly sure if it was a good thing to do? this’ll be my second season growing in them so some tips would be great as my last frost date is coming soon in April. NY zone 7a. God bless you and your family 😊

  17. I have been trying to grow ginger and have always failed!! Going to try again taking your advice! Thank you for the info. Very Timely for me!!! Love how you reuse everything. So much less trash going into the landfill and being used for better purposes in our home gardens!!!!

  18. Thanks Robbie, perfect timing. I've had a bowl of ginger soaking on the sink waiting to see if it will grow nubs. It has grown several nubs. Just didn't know what to do next. Now I do know!! Thanks again.

  19. Have you ever did these complete grow kits . I bought two . I bought one for strawberries and the other is for cherry tomatoes. I read both of them and I am confused about how to grow them both. Can you help because I want them to grow. I failed the last time but don’t want to fail this time.

  20. I wouldn't have thought to save the water from cleaning the ginger/ all veggies to use on other plants. This lady thinks of everything. Thank you.

  21. Hi Robbie😃did you know people chop the leaves while green and add to dishes. Robbie where did you purchase those sturdy dish pans ?
