  1. Is the soil warm enough to plant potatoes? Recommended only 2 eyes for each potato. Will have higher yeild.

  2. We stopped cutting our seed potatoes 3 years ago and have less rot. Good to see you feeling better! Nothing like spring weather to rejuvenate the body and soul.😁

  3. Wow – your lilac is way ahead of mine and have not even gotten my potato order so planting for me will be later this month. So funny when you call the cats and they just look at you like "What?" One shake of the treat bag and my cat is in my lap. I would just plant extra peas and thin them later when in doubt as you can't have too many peas, right? I would get some cinnamon or clove oil to spread around my buildings to deter the snakes. There are other repellents but have heard those are effective too. Blessings and glad you are on the mend!

  4. don’t spray fruit trees if they are blooming. that is what i’ve been told from a fruit tree guru. i didn’t spray mine this year.

  5. Oh man…spring for me isn’t till April….I’ve got some time….I’ve planted my potatoes whole last year and did well. I’ll do again in large containers

  6. I’m not a pea lover per say, but when I get them I dehydrate them to last longer. I just made a nice meatloaf with my dehydrated veggie mis and it came out so good! Kinda proud of myself…😀

  7. Toss some peas in their anyways since your planting those opened peas. That way you’ll have peas regardless?

  8. I’m so happy you found help Kaye! It’s always nice to have help….👍♥️

  9. Sure enjoyed this. Here in Utah where I am we can start planting our cold weather crops in 2 weeks. Our tender ones can’t go in until mid May. I’m starting some seedlings indoors and getting eager for the new season. Love watching your videos!

  10. Wow, lilacs in bloom on March 1st! I'll be interested in hearing about the whole potato planting results.

  11. You are on it! I planted a few whole potatoes last year, they did produce stronger plants. My dad was a beekeeper. Honeybees won’t eliminate in their hive. He always said, God provides this unusual weather so they can leave the hive and survive.

  12. Never have soaked my spring peas and they're always come up really well but something else did them in… either wind or freezing rain but this year they're going into the box I can cover very easily. Bad storms are headed our way tomorrow and Friday…more so your neck of the woods, so stay safe. I just keep moving my 3 fruit trees I haven't gotten in the ground to avoid either frost or high winds!!

  13. Making progress! My chickens love the grubs I find. Hornworms, too! What a handsome young man is Jack! What a blessing to have his help in the garden! My son helps me when I ask, but he hasn't acquired the gardening bug yet. It does look like Spring – It's been in the 80's here in North Florida, and praying we don't get a late frost. Sorry your raised beds need attention – Always something, eh? Honestly, we really do have more good things than bad!

  14. Well another day has come to a close and the perfect end is seeing your beautiful and watching you plant the future of life piece by piece, so keep smiling that beautiful smile of yours, and Good night my dear, and GOD BLESS😇🌹🦋🐝

  15. My fig looks just like yours but they will show up when the weather is warmer. They will bud up all along those little stems. Just leave it alone and you'll see it wake up later in early summer. You really should be keeping a garden journal with dates from this year to know when to do certain things, like spraying fruit trees, and cutting back berries … next year. Or, perhaps a calendar with space for your notes. You'll be able to get more done each month if you know the tasks to do for that month. It'll all feel overwhelming with too much to do if you don't get it organized. I'm not scolding you, I'm kicking myself for don't keeping up with my own journal!

  16. Beautiful seeing your trees 'bud out'. Lucky you have some warmer weather and planting your peas and potatoes. I not only soak my pea seeds, I also wait until they sprout…using the damp paper towel method. The peas seem to do better this way in my zone 5 gardens. Happy to see you getting a couple of people to help you. Remember Kaye…don't take on more than YOU can manage. You never know how long 'help' will be around. More and bigger is not necessarily better. Your mind and body do not like to be stressed and overwhelmed. Take care dear lady.

  17. Hey, that snake in the garage? It likely slithered out from UNDERNEATH something in your yard.

You need to wear gloves as well as stop reaching down lifting flat things up off the ground, like that gunny sack or slabs of wood, etc.

Or . . . keep it up and learn the hard way!

  18. Hope your not getting those winds and possible tornados like over in Kentucky lil darlin. You let someone know your safe.🙏

  19. You are ahead of me, Kaye! I have not planted my potatoes or peas yet!! I'm going to let these storms pass and then get them in.
