  1. I’m very surprised but also very glad that Akrotiri somehow made this list. Such a fantastic hidden two-player gem, played it just last week with my SO 🙂

  2. Great to see a football game, I was looking for one a while back for the 10 year old football fan, will look into this more to see if it's suitable for his age

  3. I have heard sports games are very tricksy to simulate in a board game. I have played a few that did not feel very…active. I think it is a big challenge, but one we may master this decade! ^_^ There are so many wonderful game designers to give it a try!

  4. I'm fairly new to board gaming in general and Dominion really intrigues me. However, I'm a bit of a collector/perfectionist so I would want all the expansions to have a complete collection. So while I want to, I'll probably hold off on Dominion until I can afford all FIFTEEN expansions (which is just bonkers).

  5. I wish I saw this first. I just went and bought board games like 3 hours ago. lol more to add to the list!! Thanks!

  6. I'm always down for scrumptious eats at Tacoburger especially after they push out the local fantasy populace. The meat tastes better when it's salted with elf tears. Chaz, did you get the dwarvish decoder ring that comes in the kid's meals? I've heard it unlocks their mines. The dwarves were too greedy, they dug to deep, they awoke Shadow and Flame. Which is like the primo taco seasoning. A little spicy but worth it.

  7. Plenty of older games getting some love again. So funny… I just re-added Fox Duet to my wishlist after 3 years being out. Cheers!

  8. We have In Front of Elevators…same publisher team as Wind the Film. It's a neat game.

  9. I came here for board games, but left with sports trivia. … Can I get a refund? I was going to use that brain space for the rulebook for Raiders of Scythia.

  10. There are indeed 11 players on offense on a football team, and 11 more players on defense on a football team. Oh, and there are also 11 players on a soccer team. 🙂

  11. Just wanted to mention that the link for the Patreon is not in the description. Still found it through Google, but I think you should add it here so it's easier for people!

  12. Having done exactly (zero) research, and knowing and knowing exactly (diddly squat) about non-American football, or most other sports-ball games, my gut instinct is that we don't have more sports board games because the disparity between board gamers and sports enthusiasts seems pretty wide…

  13. Hey thanks for your love for Akrotiri! It is true – we are currently shopping it around again! We'll send you your cut once we sign it again! 🙂

  14. Sports are a game. It's like making a boardgame about a game.
Why don't we have more boardgames about boardgames?

  15. Wind the Film is available as Photograph in the UK. Picked up a copy myself fairly recently so you might be able to find it at Airecon!

  16. Thanks for the review. I've not heard of most of these games. The presentation was fun and relaxed.

  17. Another difference between Times Up and Monikers is the word selection – Times Up Title Recall is all movie/show/book/song titles, and Monikers has more meme/internet type stuff. I feel like Monikers also doesn’t expect you to know the things you’re guessing (I never knew many movies and pop culture things so games like Title Recall where you need to know those made me feel left out).

  18. Aaron Wilson recently guested on Salt n Sass talking about how implementing some rules from board games in American football would improve the game. It was so interesting thinking about the tabletop game influencing the real life game instead of it being the other way around like it usually is!

  19. The never-ending expansions of Carcassonne and Dominion are like two little brothers trying to get the last word.

  20. This video was delighrful, and I'm not just saying that because you mentioned Wind the Film and Pandoria, two games I consider criminally underrated or ignored.

  21. What could better encapsulate “board game geek” than not knowing how many players are on a soccer team… 😂

  22. C for killer is funny! Your friends had no sense of humour lol
