Hi Andy. Great video. I can't wait to start sowing. What was the name of the calebrese you've set
Hopefully sowing this weekend, getting itchy fingers ๐ Nice trick with the zip loc bag. Lots of patience needed for the tea bag sowing pods
Eyup Andy. I've often wondered why we don't use cheap recycled plastic to manufacture 'planks' for raised beds instead of using timber which inevitably rots. I'm looking forward to see how the metal jobs go. Cheers! Dave.
loved the zip lock bag trick will give that one a go, I have only onions potted on from seed and theres more germinated, I might sow a pot of leeks this weekend, I generally wait till march etc to sow brassicas toms, and will be sowing the Hilda sweetpea you sent me, I will send a pic by email when they are in flower, take care Steve
Off work after badly twisted ankle, got 600l of compost coming on Friday from Wickes will let you know if OK, if I can even get it into back garden ๐ Well the Ms is off so much to her disgust she may have to help in the garden for once. Hey Hay Andy nice to see again going to plant whatever this Friday.
New to channel mate and content superb ๐…looking forward to sowing and growing ๐
Great to see some seeds sown Andy – canโt wait to get going! That compost looks great, it will be interesting to see how it performs. I like the tea bag idea – like you said, make them up while youโre watching tv & youโll get loads done ๐. I started some Hildaโs mix a few weeks ago & Iโll do another tray now – they will make a lovely treat in summer. All the best, take care.
Great video. I like the way you work tidy it's how I work. Keep em coming.
Good to see the seeding happening back in the UK. I'll be coming home to stay soon and looking forward to allotment growing again. Whilst living in Australia and with temperatures which don't lend themselves to growing in an open environment, I am thinking of going aquaculture and now with the prices (as you mentioned) for compost going through the roof, thought it would be a good time for you to try it out on a small scale maybe to see how you go with it. Over here for eg the price of food in general is expensive (NSW), especially food like ginger which is around $35 per kilo. I was thinking of you growing ginger because it is so easy to grow and maybe you could do a specialised, small section on your videos on trying different methods of growing different foods. I grow ginger in pots and other containers at the moment and I reckon it could be a little money spinner for you. Hope you like the idea, but if you don't I am still looking forward to the rest of your year.
How are your Santero onion seeds doing Andy?
Mine nave been awful – less than 50% germination in a month.
Good ending! If you don't plant something nature will. Great
Good to see you back Andy. Funny how certain flowers remind us of people in our lives but also a lovely tribute to them. Iโve done my sweet peas in toilet rolls this year because I heard they donโt like the roots disturbed. Supported ๐๐๐จ๐ฆ
Congrats on your new compost supplier Andy, looking forward to seeing your metal bed video, I'm transitioning to metal beds myself, getting a bit sick of renewing the timbers every few years..
Andy thrilled you have some metal raised beds to trial, weโve had them over here (Birdies) for some years and they last years and years. Just bought some ones for this garden lower height but one original from years ago tall version still going strong. Hope you find them as good.
Welcome back Andy and let's hope we all get some bumper crops this year๐๐ช๐.
Can't decide ,wood or metal for my new raised beds. So your next vlog will be very helpful. (I need higher raised beds due to SI joint problems.)๐
Put Scrivens green waste compost on my beds, good stuff. I tested it with pot grown Broad beans which grew on well.
Going to trial it in my container grown potatoes next month.
Great to see back Andy great video and the tea fantastic money-saving idea have a good growing season ๐
Hiya Andy, where did you say that you got your small seed trays from? Was it Stuarts? Can you send me a link please?
Hi Andy great video that's a good idea having a board that fits in the compost trays
