February Gardening Tips – Do this now Zone 9!

Spring planting time is upon us! Do this right now if you haven’t already to be ready for planting day whenever you feel comfortable enough to plant. I’m putting tomatoes in the ground today, February 19th in my South Louisiana backyard garden. My last frost date is on the 26th and I see nothing under 56 degrees as a low on the 10 day forecast, so I’m going for it! The best part of gardening in zone 9 is that we can plant all year long and we get a great jumpstart on the growing season in the spring. When are you planting your spring garden?

  1. That’s what I’ve been doing all day. And the ant hills in my raised beds suck! South Louisiana for you though.

  2. I totally agree with having a garden you can manage. Some people don't realize the amount of work that goes into it. Having a huge garden sounds nice until you have to manage the weeds lol.
