Hey ya’ll, I’m Jess from Roots & Refuge Farm

Welcome to a place that feels like home. A small farm with a big family. We hope you’ll pull up a chair, grab some coffee and visit awhile.

There was a time that all I wanted in the world was a little farm where I could raise my family and grow our food. Now, that is exactly what exists outside my door. In watching it unfold, a new dream was formed in my heart – to share this beautiful life with others and teach them the lessons we’ve learned along the way. Welcome to our journey, friend. I am so glad you’re here.

  1. You work for 40yrs to have $1m in your retirement, meanwhile some people are putting just $10k in a meme coin for just few months and now they are multimillionaires, all thanks to Mrs Moraine, God bless you ma 👏

  2. 😮 I can’t believe the difference that structure makes. What a perfect addition! I know you all will enjoy it

  3. Jess you are living the life I dream of. Family friends that is all you need. Enjoy.😍 Ohh yes I would absolutely love Jake to visit. Need a few ideas and help in my 1 acre garden. Just yesterday I had people finally moved the shed from uphill down to the flat area so I have better acess. Yippie.

  4. The whole video I love but I love the snip that you guys are growing your own bait what a step people don't realize is so amazing. Worms you grew with your healthy farm scraps, fish growing right by your house….yum 🙌🏻🥰

  5. My son lives in East Tennessee where the weather has been pretty mild. It’s a crazy February warm there & it is snowing in California. Starting my seeds inside looking forward to the garden❤️💕
Thank you for sharing your progress. It is beautiful!

  6. So excited for y’all!!! I love watching all the family and friends stop by, reminds me of my childhood!
Totally off topic but I am soooo jealous seeing y’all wearing short sleeves and shorts!!! 😊

  7. Wow!!! That pavilion is gorgeous! I have seeds sprouting in my windowsill right now, thanks in large part to you, Jess. So excited for this gardening year! 💗

  8. I'm such a bad seed starter, everyone that grows has to be transferred to another pot. Just can't kill them babies

  9. Ohhh this whole thing made me so happy for you! Lots of family and friend time AND a beautiful addition to the garden to tie it all in! Totally looks like home now

  10. I love watching you and Miah transform the property into your home. The pavilion is a WOW. Nice to see you have friends, Daniel and Jake visit. Have a wonderful weekend.

  11. The pavillion is such a warm addition to the garden. Your creative touches and a place to sit makes this more like home and really more like your garden. I known there'll be more whimsical touches and I bet it's so nice to get to the place that's beyond the basics.

  12. Hey Jess! Love to see the beautiful progress. When I can by on your birthday to wish you happy birthday and missed you, I was sad because I wanted to tell you how proud of y'all and happy for y'all seeing all the progress! It is amazing what y'all have accomplished! The loveliness is growing apace! But I am over the moon to see your new pavilion! That in the midst ot the lovely raised beds really does make is seem , cani say homier?? You know your original home where I first "met" you.
You are the best!!!!! Love it all!!!

  13. Oh my gosh !!! I love it!!! I can't wait for your garden tours !!!! Your garden belt is really starting to shine Jess !!!

  14. Oh WOW! The pavilion!!!!! This is truly home. I’m so happy for you!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🌞

  15. That Pavilion just connect everything together it's absolutely beautiful. Definitely a good place to have coffee and chillax

  16. Ohhhh, I applauded to see the pavillian going up 😁!!!! Yes, agree that is a big step closer to the "home" feel of your garden, something that gives it some more of that "Secret Garden" feel. That special place to go and just enjoy the garden.

  17. Hey Jess if you want to see a 63 year old woman do a wild dance, let me go thru a spider web. I don’t like spiders and hate when I get in a spider web.😂😂😂

  18. you are so funny when you see the seedlings , love it ! and you deserve your farm and so much more to come.

  19. When I miss your Arkansas garden and your “Goatie Girls”, I just go back and watch the old episodes. They make me happy!

  20. Absolutely love the progress of the garden! You have know idea how much you have encouraged me to keep my garden going. This year I am doubling the garden size and putting in a 10×20 greenhouse. So so excited for spring!

By the way- absolutely love the pavilion!!!! Can’t wait to see it furnished!

  21. It's amazing how much you and the crew have accomplished in 2 yrs! I'm so happy to see you well and able to take in all the blessings.

  22. It has been so sweet to see your garden slowly evolving into Home💛 there is something so special about starting from nothing and slowly building and growing. Like a beautifully crafted living sculpture!

  23. Hey Jess, real Winter weather finally showed itself. An ice Storm x2 -15 ,-3 Tonight.
Cold like this for a week 🥶.
It's nice to have Old Friends show up from memories past💖.
Ia went too visiting my Old Friend at His Grandma's Lake House one Spring when He was putting a New Dock in.
We grew up in a Harbor Town.
It was always fun to visit the Lake Houses my friends had!
I'm glad you and Miah got away for a Break 🌞.
    Hello to Daniel 🤗.
I hope He and Toby caught a Big One 🎣.
The raised beds and new structure look awesome 👍🌟.
    JO JO IN VT 💞💨❄️☃️

  24. Sound feedback – When you were in locations where it was windy I could still hear you just fine, even in the greenhouse. I could hear the fans too but they weren't overwhelming, so I don't think the wind is a problem if there is something you really want to show us and it's windy, we can still hear you. 🙂

  25. I am going to purchase another green stock for my patio, however, worried bout birds eating it all if I not constantly watching them. I had that problem last year with birds. The management doesn't condone bird feeding or anything that attracts them. lol
