  1. I'm so excited…I got 6 sweet potatoes in water to see if i can grow slips. I sure hope so. I went to Whole Foods for organic ones and would hate to have them rot. I've never did thus before

  2. just happy you got home safe and sound
this what i do is not for everyone
i carry a .45 colt in my glove-box,,,, loaded and ready
never go out driving without a fire-arm,,,,,,
your Toyota dealer should have made darn sure you knew that this car did no carry a spare wheel n tire
some manufacturers install a (get you home spare,)
tell you babe super brave girl i would have been at my wits end traffic hurtling past "trucks" ,,,,, yes i would have had a fit of the "squeaky bum syndrome" Ed

  3. So sorry Kaye. I just went to check for my spare tire. What is the most important is that you are okay! Take a deep breath today. Drink a cup of holy Basil tea, which will calm you. Itโ€™s good that you slow down some. Self care is so important. God bless.

  4. Kaye having a keepsake from our dearest loved ones is important,,what a long long tiering day for you, and yep sad also.,I hope you will remember that we do care,im so so pleased that you re back home safe with darling kitties, you are special and need some good rest up time, xxxxx

  5. They don't make spare tires for Prius I believe! U can't even buy a donut for them.

  6. Having an auto mechanic boyfriend all through H.S. taught me SO much, then driving truck taught me that much more!!! I know my pick up has a spare, it's under that back end. Do I have the strength to get it out?? VERY doubtful so won't do me much good…but my insurance company has roadside assistance, so there's that. Just thankful you got home ok, now the next thing is get a wheel and tire for your car. A good used one should do the trick!! Junk yards are the BEST places to look for stuff like that cheaper than other places!!

  7. One day at a time, my mom, my dad, my brother died in my adult hood, then loss of my husband less than 2 years, car problems, and other house and issues are tough when your alone. Bless you Kaye, ๐Ÿ™

  8. You brought me to tears talking about Deborah. What an ordeal you had and so glad you got home safely. Yes, you do need to take a break.

  9. Oh Kaye.. I'm glad you're okay and made it home. I had AAA too for many years and finally canceled it when I got a new car that included roadside assistance. I had AAA home and auto insurance for years, too many years I guess. When I had my old car, a 2001 and drove less than 6000 miles/year my rates continued to go up. I was told because of my zip code, even though I was driving less and less and no accidents or tickets.

  10. God bless you with His comfort and peace that passes all understanding. I pray for your safety. I hope your tire gets replaced quickly.

  11. Hi Kay, sorry for you, losing your sister! But a little info for flat tires. I told that to my sister and it saved her a lot of time out on the ountry road. Besides an other man who stopped his car and did the work for her (women are privileged :D) It's a fluid, white, like fat milk, and apparently it's kind of self-vulcanizing rubber. The container is about 5 to 6 inches long and abou 2 inches in diameter. And you should have a little electric air compressor – my favorit is the airman (made in Germany :D). You unscrew the tire valve insert, fill in the fluid and fill the tire again with air. The next way should be to a tire dealer etc. for changing the tire. And ofcourse it works only with small holes, not when the tire is ripped apart.

  12. *Hugs* What an emotional day. So glad your ok. Tomorrow w the beautiful sun will rise and you will be better โค

  13. I'm so sorry you had to go thru this. And on top of your story about your sisters checkbook. Since my husband became bedridden, I had to take over the bills etc. Now that he is gone, I catch my breath still after coming on 3 yrs, when I see his writing on the file folders and laugh at how he decided to name things. Needless to say, I have to look in each folder to confirm what's in it. Lol
PS We owned a service station with tow trucks and AAA contracts. We won awards for excellence in service. I learned how to change tires and wiper blades and put on tire chains. One thing is.. ALWAYS be aware of where you're at. Mile posts matter, direction matter ( east, west etc). AAA called us one night for a woman and child broken down in the middle of nowhere pitch black. I dispatched my husband to the call. I was online with AAA and him. He drove for miles on I84 here in Oregon. After so much time and hand wringing… it turned out the woman was in IDAHO on I84! Always have food and water in your car and top off your gas. Learn to check your own fluids. Ok… off my soapbox. God Bless you Kaye and your channel

  14. Oh Kaye, watching this, I just wanted to give you a hug! So happy you got home okay and didn't wreck. Flat tires can be very dangerous. I know from experience. My mom also has macular degeneration and it is heartbreaking to see her try to read. She loves to read but it's gotten to the point where she will often have me read for her. She has a lighted magnifying glass but her eyes tire easily.

  15. I prayed for you when I saw the community post so obviously once again, God has proved He is faithful. You're right about letting us know to be more prepared for the unexpected. Hope your day went well today, it's so beautiful in our part of Tennessee today. Hugs!

  16. I am glad you made it home ok,and safely.
We can try and prepare, but there will always be something.
Hopefully someone will be helped by this๐Ÿ™‚
    God Bless
    Donna

  17. Awh Kaye! ๐Ÿ˜ญ What a emotional day you had and then car troubles too. GeezOwiz. Glad you got home safely. *big hug

  18. Hi Kaye,
My husband and I have USAA for our insurance and their customer service has gone down hill. I needed Roadside assistance about a year or more and I found out you are not able to talk to a person at least right away. I think it is partially due to Covid.
    God Bless You.

  19. I am so sorry about the loss of your sister. Soo important to have something from your loved one after they pass. You could have had such a worse accident and praise God you were not hurt. It could have been so much worse. That was a stressful time. Glad you are ok and take some time to relax now.

  20. Thank God your ok and made it home safely. Life can be so difficult Iโ€™m happy you have Triple A us women especially need road side assistance coverage. Losing a loved one is so hard. Sorry for your loss my friend. Praying for you and your dear mom. You need a break and some good rest. Sending hugs. God Bless you. โค

  21. I'm so sorry you had to go through this experience. I've never thought to check a new car for a spare either. The one time I had a blow out was on the I-5 in Anaheim. I just happened to be in the outside lane and was able to get in the emergency lane without having an accident and the car had a spare. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your sister too. I lost a younger brother at age 57 to a massive heart attack. It was totally unexpected. He had no risk factors. He lived a very healthy lifestyle. Take care and God bless.

  22. I am so sorry, Kaye, for everything you are going through. I have lost a child and know the pain of losing a loved one. The loss is excruciating but never the memories.

This past Summer, while staying at a Air bnb, my tire had a large screw in it. I called to see if anyone c would come and change it but no one was interested. So I tried to drive it to the nearest place that would repair it and that was 20 miles away. Anyway, I ended up on the side of the Interstate in 100 degree heat ( thank goodness for air-conditioning!) And a wait time of 2 hours from AAA. I called my husband and told him what happened and he said, "I'm on my way!" He worked about an hour from where I was. I was also fortunate that someone had called an officer and he was coming in from the opposite side and crossed the median with dust flying. I thought maybe I had parked illegally and was about to get a ticket. Instead he offered me water and a tangerine. Sweet young man and very caring.
I am so glad you had Angels watching over you, too!๐Ÿ’—
Kaye, I no longer travel at night by myself. It's just not safe anymore in so many ways.
Much love to you and your Angels!

  23. It breaks my heart that I cant give you a shoulder to cry on right now sweetheart and come straight to your rescue. No videos for a week Barbara Kaye.
    Get some rest.

  24. Oh Kaye! What a trying day!
First the extremely emotional visit to your sisters house, and then seeing your mother in her fragile condition you were already emotionally drained, before the highway incident! I'm so glad that it was the tire and not anything more serious, which it could have been! At least now you know how important it is to have a spare. Don't blame yourself!! I admire you for all that you do! God bless you Kaye!

  25. So stressful! Glad your finally home safe and sound!๐Ÿ˜˜โค๐Ÿ™๐Ÿปโœจ

  26. Oh my gosh ๐Ÿ˜ฎthatโ€™s very scary sitting on that road! Got a flat on the highway once and the highway patrol parked behind me until help arrived. I felt pretty good about that because it was at night and he had on his flashers. Iโ€™m glad you made it safely ๐Ÿ’•

  27. I am so glad you got iff that highway safely. Glad you could talk to us part of the time and hopefully be able to charge your phone to pass the time. If there is anything I have learned in this life, it is that it seems like there is always something that we are forced to contend with. But, God is good and He takes care of us. I am thankful when I have an ordinary day. Wishing you a good break and many, many ordinary days!!! God bless!

  28. ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ’” Miss Kaye. Thank you for sharing your precious memories and life with us. Yur a gem. โค๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿค

  29. Yes, it is hard when your close sister passes and leaves you behind. My sister passed two years ago and I just can't go to her house yet to see my brother-in-law. I was or am afraid I would break down after not seeing her in her chair where she always sat when she knew I was coming!! So sorry you had that break down because of an object in the road. Good, I'm glad you made it home safe…Blessing

  30. I cancelled AAA 3 years ago after I got a lock out and I don't have a "smart phone" and I had to go back into the store on a 95 degree day with my frozen groceries that were thawing. I had to go to the service desk and have one of the gals use their smart phone to contact AAA. All they had on their site was travel information. I needed to get home. I opted to pay for the AAA approved service center and I would call when I got home to see what I needed to do to get re-imbursed. They sent me a letter about 10 days later with the re-imbursement denied. I was so ticked off I cancelled service. AAA needs to have LOCAL numbers for their customers to call in the event of an emergency. It is funny that you have a video on this because I have the paperwork on my counter to enroll in AAA but I want the name of a local person in the event of an emergency. I live in the middle of two small towns which are each 20 minutes away. I don't go anywhere at night because I have no AAA. Now I am wondering if I should even bother.

  31. Wished I could have known, I live in Nashville could have ran you to get a tire or something! Glad you got through that, its hard being a woman doing all the things, but you definitely get it done! Kudos to you Kaye!

  32. So thankful you're ok..
I can relate with the losses..
I can also relate to the drought issues last year.
