  1. A word of encouragement: it’s never too late to plan for your garden. Even if you already have a vegetable garden in place, there are always small improvements that can bring about big results. For example, this year I’m moving my asparagus to a better location, which will free up prime garden space. For you new gardeners, your first garden is an exciting time so be sure to do your homework. A garden that isn’t a good fit can be really discouraging and we want you to LOVE gardening as much as we do!! 💚

  2. Perfect points, Val !! And agree, "in that order". I think growing what you like, that's easy, is key in first year(s) especially!!
    Have a great week!!
    Cheers J&C 🌱🌱🌱

  3. Hi Val, thanks for these words of encouragement, enjoyed the kids with the wheelbarrow race! Great advice for us novice gardeners. 🌱

  4. I agree Val. . . it's never too late! I will always "go for it" even if the time is wrong. There is always something to learn in every experience.🥰 – Liz

  5. There should be a personality profile for vegetables in gardening books. Like Potatoes being recluses, broccoli being temperamental, and tomatoes being egotistical. 🤣🤠😂

  6. Great advice. Learning one's yard's micro climates are essential. Also the local growing seasons.
