  1. OMG….I want this book for a short hand guide! I have tons of books that have the info in it, but it also has a page or more that you have to sift through to find the grow lengths for indoor to outdoor!

Ik that the internet can be a fast, great way to do the searches, but you never know when the power/internet etc will be down/unavailable!!!

  2. I use your seed starting mix and was wondering if it can be used as a container mix for mature peppers?
I don't have compost or trust what comes in bags pre mixed
Thanks for all you hard work.

  3. I am Northern California and I am surprised you are already planting cucumbers. It’s very cold in my area so I am wondering when do you actually put them in the ground?

  4. It is too early in Alabama to plant cucumbers and squash. The earliest I can plant them is mid to late March. Today I planted two starter trays of assorted lettuce, and one starter tray of Lucullus Swiss Chard, Rainbow Swiss Chard, Fordhook Swiss Chard, New Zealand Spinach, Tokyo Bekana Mustard, and Japanese Red Giant Mustard. Next week will be pepper week fifteen varieties, six each, totaling 90 pepper plants. My Seascape Strawberry plants are on order. I still have a lot to plant with potatoes, summer squash, winter squash, cucumbers, Danvers, turnips, beets, flowers, herbs, and more. Go big, or go bigger!

  5. Yes, I love growing squash! This year Boston Marrow is going to big thing in my garden. People say it’s a great eating squash!

  6. CaliKim, I had such a hard time last summer with squash bugs & cucumber beetles attacking my plants. Do you have any suggestions for companion plants to ward off predators?

  7. Yea I have a ton of stuff growing already ! I have tomatoes cucumbers squash peppers

  8. I started Mexican Gherkins(aka Cukamelons) about a month ago because, unlike most cucumbers, they start out very slow. I started them in peat pellets and carefully re-potted them in plastic containers. The larger peat pots would have been a better idea and will try with the squash.

  9. I have issues with aphids on my squash. They suck the juice from the leaves. How do I prevent them?

  10. Yes, cucumbers, summer squash and winter squash are definitely on my list for seeds starts.
