  1. Just came across your videos as I was hunting for any ideas to try and save my container garden during the hurricane – so glad I stumbled across your channel! Looks like you're in the same area of NC as I am, so I'll definitely be coming back for more videos, not just to see how you came out of the storm but to go back and watch all your old videos! I'm an urban gardener right now but I have homesteading dreams. Good luck with the storm – hope we both come out relatively unscathed! 🙂

  2. What are you going to do with your pets? I'd take all the tomatoes red or not. Can use for sauces. What a great garden. Please stay safe.

  3. I love your videos and always check your channel to see if you've uploaded! I'm struggling with my pepper plants and wish mine looked like yours. I must be doing something wrong. It doesn't help that I live in Southern California and we had an excessively hot summer. Good luck with Florence. I work in EMS and we have deployed our DRT's (disaster relief teams) to help you guys out. I can't wait for an update!

  4. Hope you fare ok for the hurricane! If you want to protect figs or other fruits etc from birds get some drawstring mesh jewelry/gift bags. Put them over the fruits and cinch them up. Works great.

  5. When Irma came through Cental Florida last year I thought I would lose a lot too, but I was suprised how resilient many of my plants were. Now I lost all my citrus but the trees survived. My blackberry arbor and vine did get some damage but we tied it down to cement cinder blocks so it was easy too just push it all back into place. I didn't have a lot of tomatoes and peppers left but most were in pots and those I took in. Just take in as much as you can and tie down what you can't. Good luck and my prayers are with you 🙏

  6. Yeah, it would be our luck as a Floridian that the hurricane comes swooping downwards. It already changed its path toward South Carolina.

  7. Best wishes, hope you and your property stay safe! Will you be able to bring Wild Kitty inside? He or she is one of my favorite parts of your videos, such a pretty little panther!

  8. greetimgs from florida im prayin for you up there, stay safe. i was evacuated during Mathew and Irma iys not fun.

  9. Please be sure to post at least a brief video after the hurricane passes through to let everyone know that you're alright.

  10. I cut off some suckers from the bottom of my fig tree and they are in soil growing. What I did was cut off 6-8 in sucker from bottom of fig tree and cut off all the leaves but about 4 near the top. When I made the cut I cut it at 45 deg angle and set it in plain water and put it in the window. in 3 three weeks it will be ready to plant when the roots are half inch long. I have had 100% success rate so far. Every time suckers grow from the bottom of my fig I cut them off and grow them.

  11. I think you should re arrange the freezer stash, so that it's easier to go first in, first out. Anyway. Stay safe out there!

  12. I love your videos so much! They are just great and your cat is cute. Goodluck with the hurricane, i'll pray for you! Greetings from The Netherlands

  13. New sub. Loving your garden and videos. I have just started growing in 10" containers this year learning from Home Grown Veg. I got 3 and a half pounds of potatoes from 1 container on saturday….you would have thought i had won a jackpot. 😊 Still have leeks, kale, cabbage, cauliflower, turnip and carrots growing. I started late in the year though and the weather is quickly turning. I am in Northumberland in the UK. I have had the most fun though even if i get nothing else and can't wait for next year. I hope you and your wonderful garden have managed to stay safe…..and your mad, loopy beautiful cat. 🌱🌻🌻🌱

  14. Q: There must be something I'm not doing with my "Hardy" figs (am in zone 7). It "disappears" completely every Winter, comes back every Spring larger and bushier, but still no figs (it's 4 years old now and grows 6' tall). Have any ideas?

  15. I have plans of doing a garden with my wife next year and we have fallen in love with the way you have yours laid out. I rewatch so many of your videos so I can take notes and learn from your tips. Thank you for your knowledge and experience! You rock! Just wondering though, how tall are your raised beds? Keep up the great work, we are so glad we found your channel!

  16. For two years I have watched your process and this year I told myself I was going to do it! I am glad we live in the same planting zone, though our climate and dirt is much different here in MS, but I am going to use a lot of your advice to finally plant my own garden this summer. My main goal is pumpkins.

  17. You should give a course in YouTube videos. Very informative and entertaining without excess verbiage. I even live for the “B roll” footage. Best background performances Eva!
