Join me as I paint a simple colorful background and then meander across the page with a traditional dip pen and Sennelier ink to create a semi-abstract leaf design which I finish off with touches of white pen and gouache. This is a method that anyone can do, and if you follow my advice about using a dip pen and holding your brushes and pens away from the tip, you can let serendipity take over and who knows what the result might be!

Very beautiful ❤
Very interesting painting…really like it…
This is gorgeous ❤
Thanks Diane, I love using the dip pen 😊
Lovely – I’m both relaxed and inspired at once and feel like Iva also learned so much. Gifted 😊
Very beautiful!! I really enjoy watching you paint! I'm here in Kansas, the middle of the USA. Isn't it amazing that we can connect by way of the internet!
Nice easy idea, lovely.
I enjoyed this tutorial! I would love to see you do more of this type of abstract painting on your channel.
I’m so excited to break out my pen! Great lesson…thank you!
Beautiful x
I love it! ❤️
Wonderful! Will have to buy a dip pen. Lovely! Thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts, imagination, and ideas with us ❤️ I couldn't resist purchasing two of your coloring books to use with my colored pencils. I need to get back to creating my own projects, but for now, I'm enjoying watching you. 🤓
Very pretty. I confess that as you started out I didn’t think those would dry to such beautiful colors.
Das ist mehr als gut geworden . So aus dem Handgelenk heraus sieht einfach aus – wenn man es kann. Ich werde es probieren. Dankeschön
You always add the right touches. Every time I think, "Oh no. Now she's ruining it," you always make it so much better. Whatever the technique or style, you have a great eye and idea! Very nice.
Beautiful painting like it your style look good and simple keep going great work! 😄
This is awesome! Inspires creativity and relaxation!
This is pretty. I will need to brush up on my technique to draw things. Thanks for the video 😊😊😊
Love these types of compositions
What about making a painting from an accidental spill?
I realized last night while I was binge watching older videos that you remind me of my first art teacher. I was 11 when my parents allowed me to have private art lessons and I loved my teacher. She was kind and spoke softly like you. What a lovely memory
Fun. Thank you 🎨🖋🖌
Love your abstract work Diane.. Gives me so much inspiration. Being an Aussie I'm thinking gum leaves.
Diane, learning more & more from you. Love those background colors! Going to order the white opaque color.
QUESTION: can one paint successfully on canvas with watercolor paints? If so, which
watercolor brand you recommend?
Lovely. I enjoyed the background music too. Very soothing. Have you changed your camera angle to portrait? I normally watch on my phone and when I turn the phone sideways it decreases the picture with the angle you used. Not having a go. Just an observation that it had changed. I prefer landscape. Now I’ll shut up 😅 thoroughly enjoyed the painting. Thank you.
Lovely! Very classy!❤️
I love it!
I love this one! Definitely going to play around with the idea because the possibilities are endless!
Nice i really enjoyed it 👍
Love it! Will try it 😊
Thank you very much. ❤
💗💗💗💗
Love your work. The extra touches are so lovely.
Lovely.
Oh so inspiring
No real hair brushes. Real fur/hair brushes are evil. And shellac, for any vegan artists who are interested, is made by crushing beetles. Watercolor also can contain animal biproducts including honey or ox gal and even paper sizing can be non vegan using rabbit skin glue and other things. Arches watercolor paper is not vegan I don't know what animal it is sized with. There are plenty of quality no animal or insect containing papers and paints and brushes and whatever else. Just in case anyone needs to be aware of this. You can always email the company or customer service at Dick Blick or some other art supplier and they should know.
Diane, I love hearing your thoughts as you create your pieces of art. Every video you create inspires me. xo
Very interesting!
