January 2023 English Winter Garden Tour ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒบ

And here we go again โ€ฆ another year starts in the garden! I have not done much gardening since November, apart from planting some crocus bulbs, chopping back all my perennials and roses, and a bit more leaf sweeping. So this is the first time I have had a good look around this year, you are seeing it all at the same time as me! ๐Ÿ˜Š

  1. Good morning my friend , welcome back, happy 2023 .
See thatโ€™s why I love watch your videos , I learn something, I didnโ€™t knew about the Roses, you couldnโ€™t plant an other one there if you move one . Your daffodils are tall already, ours are very sticking up from the ground .

  2. About the tree seed is , maple ๐Ÿ.
If they get stuck in your gutters, they start growing, I always have to check mine to stay clean ,and donโ€™t have to pull out roots ๐Ÿ˜Š

  3. Hello Janette. Happy new year. The seeds on your lawn are almost certainly from a Sycamore. It is in the Maple family only more of a pest. Xxx

  4. Great to see you. Your garden looks good! Iโ€™m not sure until spring what all we have lost from the freeze we all gotโ€ฆtime will tell. Totally understand about taking a rest from gardeningโ€ฆit is that time of year where we can all do that & possibly put that energy into indoor projects. It was good you gave yourself a change into construction only to find out where you are the most happiestโ€ฆworking at school. Thatโ€™s comforting when you find where you truly belong.โค

  5. Itโ€™s always a delight to see what popping in ur garden, Janette! Lottie n Lucy wanted to b a part of ur tour!๐Ÿ˜. Congratulations on ur new job. I retired four years ago from our local schools as an aide. I must say I have fond memories of that job! In our area, we not only got holidays off but a certain amount of snow days! I love to see the daffodils starting to show. Of course gardening is always a learning experience at least for me. Until next time, take care!

  6. How does your garden still look pretty?!? Mine looks like a complete pit. Ugh. So gross and brown and dead..AH HAH!! FAKE GRASS!! ..thats brilliant! ๐Ÿ˜†

  7. Nice to see your face ๐Ÿ˜Š That's wonderful you love your new school ๐Ÿ‘ My daughter is in the school system too, also loves her summers off. Hope the plants you think didn't make it turn out fine come spring. I live in the south east, very similar climate, rarely get snow. Last yr we had 3 snow storms, several inches too, that hadn't happened for 10 yrs. This yr, with the exception of a couple week of days, autumn until today has felt more like spring.

  8. Happy New Year Janette. So nice to have you back after your well deserved break. Your garden is looking great and I'm looking forward to seeing the bulbs in flower. Won't be long now. My garden has been waterlogged for so long and is now covered in snow but nothing compared to what you had last year. I can see how it took you so long to get to work that week now that I've seen your photo. Congratulations on the new job. Having a change does us good. I stuck with the same one for 43yrs and got in a right rut at the end. Take care.

  9. Hi Janette nice to see you back. The garden is all starting to wake up. Its so lovely im so looking forward to the spring again. Good luck in your new job. Iv just gone back to work after some time off. Need to get back in the routine again ๐Ÿค”. Hope you are both well take care ๐Ÿ˜Šxx

  10. Hi! Good to see you again! I love when you talk about your area! So interesting. That Bay tree is amazing! I love it. You are so lucky to have lemon cypress and an olive! I love them but too cold here. Your garden looks like spring already! No apologies, we all need a rest! Good luck with your new job! ๐Ÿ˜Š

  11. Welcome back, Janette, and congratulations on your new job. Please come round and declutter my house ๐Ÿ˜‚ You sound like a force to be reckoned with. By the way, I gave you a shout out on my recent 'how much I spent' video. Thanks for the great idea. Happy new year.

  12. It's good to have you back. Your garden looks quite well! I'm impressed with how well things are looking. Congratulations on your new job. It takes courage to make that kind of change. Happy New Year!

  13. Hi Janette thank you for lovely tour. Your garden is much tidier than mine at the moment . I think we will all have lost some treasured plants but it does give us opportunity to plant different varieties ๐Ÿ˜Š. Your olive tree is looking very healthy. Glad to hear you are enjoying your new job – sounds like you made the right decision. ๐Ÿ˜Š

  14. Ha ha ha ๐Ÿ˜‚ that flamingo ๐Ÿฆฉ,happy new year 2 you all ๐Ÿค— ,I suppose your garden can only get better ๐Ÿ˜‚

  15. Donโ€™t give up on that Yucca just yet. It always looks bad in really cold weather. Mine survives every snow covered winter where we get down to -20๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

  16. Good to see you back in the garden Janette ๐Ÿ˜Š I too have lost a few plants but have been encouraged by those that have made it through – so far anyway. Canโ€™t wait for the spring!
