In this video, I share my secret weapon for gardening in extreme heat and sun! Hot weather and a strong solar UV index can destroy your garden and damage your plants. This amazing tool makes sun damage and garden heat stress a thing of the past!
Climates with prolonged high heat and strong sun can devastate a garden by burning foliage and killing flowers. Even a heat wave can cause irreversible damage to your plants. The extreme evaporation caused by hot, sunny weather can dry out soil quickly, causing high water demand. Even thick mulching and drip irrigation may not be enough. Shade cloth is the answer! Available in various sizes and percentages, using shade cloths can protect your foliage and flowers from burn and dramatically reduce evaporation, leading to less watering. I recommend using a woven shade tarp with grommeted edges. These shade tarps are extremely strong, effective and will last many years. These are especially effective in areas where drought is common.

If only he had an amazon storefront… lol
Third world country, very poor hier to buy that stuff. We have to use bamboo and palm leaves to keep plants cooler.
My rose bush and corn seem to be the only plants so far to be able to handle the 16hr full sun in my front yard. Its no joke out there in the summer.
i had a shade over my garden in perth. its the only way to garden in summer.
I'm gonna invest in this cloth for next year, I wanna try starting alot of oaks and other various nut trees and and other trees, this year it was in the 100s so often it killed all my little saplings :/
THAX FOR THE TIPS
Thanks for info the biģ problem i have no one to do the frame and draping for me, 😢
Amazing. The plants turn sunshine and greenhouse gases into food.
Sure wish I saw this video back in June my garden was killed from 104° average temp from June to August. Thanks will be using this next year
Found Amazon store got question what's temp inside shade cloth like how much does it drop temp
How long is your Grey conduit?
You showed covered figs, but you didn't mention if figs were actually necessary for shade cloth since they thrive in middle east desert sun? what is the bottom line on figs?
I'm going to Lowe's this morning. How long is your conduit in length? And how tall are your tpost.?
Love this video. This area we live in is tough with the heat and humidity.
Would that shade cloth also help somewhat with rain protection? Also, their biggest one is 20×48. Yours looks like it runs longer than 20 ft
Really amazing video. Very helpful. Thank you
Fantastic idea for your shade structure I'm going to use it. Thank you!
Can I ask you how often you water you fruit trees? I live in Las Vegas zone 9b and I have a two year old garden with several fruit trees lime, tangerine, grapefruit and Black Mission Fig. I think my tendency is to overwater them. I was watering g last summer 3 times a day for 15 minutes each cycle. I have since heard trees do not need to be watered daily. That twice a week is enough. Can you please help me with this? Can I keep the same watering cycle year round? Also on the days I do water how many gallons of water should I put down?
Great video! I'm going into my second growing season in '23 in North Carolina and going to build a shade house using shade cloth. I learned the hard way that the NC summer heat is brutal on my veggies. Your video validated my plans. Thanks!
