  3. My husband and I have lived out in the county for close to 38 years and what neighbors we have are about 1/4 mile north of us and s handful just a tad further.

I spent years trying to show myself a good neighbor in multiple ways but about 95 percent of the neighbors keep to themselves and are not trying to be good neighbors and that makes it difficult to have a strong community. Sad!

God's best to you and your family!!!

  4. Thankyou kaye was suc y a pleasant surprise at the end of a dry sunny day here,,we have had raining days for so long, today was sunshine then finding your video this evening. Perfect day,see you next time, xxgod bless ๐Ÿ™

  5. Last few seconds of this video ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

  6. In my area, a single woman is a burden. I've always made it clear, I wasn't asking for favors. There are not enough residents here to support skilled men working to support family

  7. Community is so important! I've been here for two years now and have been blessed with some awesome help, usually just by talking to people. I've got a Kubota mower that, like you, I have no way to get to a repair shop. Now I have an awesome mobile mower repair person that comes to my house, and is actually less expensive than the local Kubota dealer! And unlike the dealer, he doesn't constantly tell me I need to buy a new Kubota…..

  8. Those Brute garbage cans are food safe. I store water in mine in basement. I boil, filter and drink.

  9. Oh wow Kayeโ€ฆ.I have the exact same outer shirt you have on! Itโ€™s one of my favorites bc I love the color. Great minds!! Lolโ€ฆ.

  10. Love it when a plan comes together!!!! Happy for you and yes I believe there are good people around just have to find them.

  11. you can't be too careful when it comes to social media. I found it's best to only deal with people I know. I like to hire my friends kids to give them some extra spending money whenever I have some heavy lifting that doesn't require much skill.

  12. Hello & good tidings my good woman. I just had a banner flash about a fireplace. As a young boy I was fortunate (being an optimist generally & always seeking the silver lining) to have helped my dad build his property from the ground up. When Portland cut it's streets, they just moved everything to the side, so many houses are on raised land. Part of that was the basement & livingroom fireplaces. Standard brick fireplace downstairs & chimney, & Arizona Flagstone in the livingroom. There are 5 ways to lay brick & each has a name. (school was boring compared to my "outside" education). My story is deep but the point is this; sharing your journey is a brilliant piece of work & courage. I view all your videos w a small knowing smile on my face. BTW, one needs to hold their face right to get through life right. See you at the next video!

  13. So glad you are getting some help for small projects around the homestead. It is trial and error going online to find professionals that will do a good job and not rip you off. I don't think people realize how difficult it is to get help living in the country due in part to the remoteness of the location and distance for supplies. With high gas prices, mileage counts too. Blessings for a wonderful day!

  14. It took a few years to sort out the best local people to know for affordable helpers and helpful friends who are quick to return the help they receive. I should have started out very slowly in the beginning since many of the first to โ€œwelcomeโ€ me were inclined to take advantage. I wasted a bundle! I recommend seeking out the older folks who are well regarded by all. Once we connected, things really took off!

  15. I'm a 74-year-young guy. I live alone and since the age of 12, my life's thrust has been aimed at helping others. I am a (former) licensed plumber, electrician and welder and I work for free.
I know how that must sound. Kaye knows the details, but suffice to say, EVERYTHING in my life has been a gift, so, really, I'm just paying it back as well as paying it forward.
What I do will work for anybody; God is no respecter of persons.
    I give.

  16. Instead of saying โ€œyour luckyโ€, how about saying your blessed? Good people in our communities are blessings.

  17. Hello smart and beautiful, you are absolutely right to look at intention first in all situations, it is a necessity to insure the outcome, enjoy the day my dear, ๐Ÿ˜‡๐ŸŒน๐Ÿžโœ

  18. Oh you're so lucky!! I'm SO happy for you. I asked my young man mowers this summer if any of them would like a side gig helping me around here…nope not a one responded. I could use prayers to get some help here when the hubby is gone for 2-3wks at a time.

  19. Hello Kaye:
Glad to hear that you've found good people to help you out where necessary. Indeed there are good people out there who will step up and go the distance while being fair on pricing. As you say, always good policy to pay attention to any red flags and trust your gut if something doesn't seem right.
Hopefully, the trenching goes well and resolves the water issues.
    Enjoying the videos, and thanks.
    Have a great day.

  20. Good call, Butch. I recommend a while back that Kaye dig brow ditches and berms to divert water.

  21. Is there anything you can't do!! You are just so resilient and beautiful. So much talent; you can sing, and act. Created a successful YouTube channel. You are homesteading a lovely property. Congratulations on 107,000 subs, I am soooooo happy for you. Your videos are so informative and inspiring. I know you touch so many people with the great info and honesty. Keep up the great work.
