Fresh garden smell is life! 💕 And I agree with the feet in the soil I was raised barefoot in the garden and it is second nature to me! I even go barefoot in the snow but not as much as the soil in the spring! Another pleasure is the harvest touching and smelling and tasting the seasons and the hard work put in the garden! And your garden is not dead it's just sleeping!💕 Just patiently waiting for the moment the warm spring sun kisses and awakens the earth back to life! I think the reason nature fills us with simple pleasure is because it lets us experience our 5 senses in the purest way.

What I enjoy most is just getting outside and enjoying the fresh air. With the dreary weather right it, it makes me miss garden season so much more.
I often say that Garden work is therapy for me!
I am alone with my thoughts, but I also love the look of plants neatly situated in my growing bags, or in my garden space…. so satisfying!
I love just sitting with my coffee in the morning and watching the garden, seeing the changes, taking in all the sounds and smells. Nature fills me with happiness!

Finding bees napping in flowers, watching hummingbirds rolling in the dew on my cabbages, just watching the seeds I've planted in a seemingly dead space become something recognizable and usable; it definitely is a sense of accomplishment and peace. It's a reassurance that that food, that resource is there for you.
I tried smelling a clod of dirt here recently as I was checking how well my compost had broken down, and threw it in a knee-jerk response when a MASSIVE nightcrawler worm popped out and touched my nose. The worm was fine. It fell out before the clod attained flight.

The pleasures of gardening being able to teach my special needs students the pleasures and watching them sifting the dirt through their hands, their excitement when a seedling 🌱 pops up and the radish they pull out of the school garden!

I live the smell of my compost, not right know because is frozen, but around June the smell is so wonderful
It’s so incredibly the sounds of your garden, my garden is close to a big avenue and we live very very close to the air base so we listen the cars anc the planes every day

Congratulations to the winner today! One of my many simple pleasures is watching bumblebees hunker down on the artichoke blossoms in the evening in preparation to spend the night. Thank you for reminding us to stop and smell the roses. Oh, there’s another! 😊

My favorite time of day out in the garden is early in the morning as the suns coming up and it’s not too cold and it’s not too hot but you can sit out there with a cup of coffee. Listen to the birds, the sound of the church down the street chiming it it’s bells and the train that blows its whistlers it goes through town right before 7 AM.
