How to choose plants with a practical purpose from the garden centre

Plants can provide our gardens with so much. I believe that plants do have a practical purpose beyond making our gardens look stunning. From adding layers of security for our homes and our wildlife visitors, to plants that can thrive in the shader parts of our gardens.

In this short film I’m going to highlight some of my favourites so you can pick them up when you are next in your local garden centre.

Plants featured:
Hosta ‘Abiqua Drinking Gourd’
Euonymus fortunei ‘Emerald Gaiety’
Fern (hardy)
Hebe ‘Magic Summer’
Vinca minor (lesser periwinkle) ‘Bowles Variety’
Juniperus squamata ‘Blue Carpet’
Thyme ‘Doone Valley’
Daphne mezereum (February daphne) ‘Rubra’
Corylus (common hazel) ‘Scooter’
Berberis thunbergia (Japanese barberry) ‘Rose Glow’
Clematis x cartmanii ‘Joe’
Trachelospermum jasminoides (star jasmine)
