🔷 ABOUT US 🔷
We’re a DIY family building our “forever homestead” from 15 acres of raw undeveloped land in Tennessee. All of our content is family friendly and safe for everyone to enjoy.

I punctured the sidewall of the rear tire on our old Ford 2000 tractor. The tire is old and dry rotted, but needs to be moved while I save up money for new tires. In today’s video I test out a sidewall tractor tire patch kit I bought. This is the GlueTread Sidewall Tire Repair Kit / Patch Sidewall Kit.

🔷 INFO FROM GLUETREAD 🔷
Specializing in sidewall puncture repair, GlueTread puncture repair kits allow you to repair a puncture or slice on any tubeless off-road tire without removing the tire from the vehicle! GlueTread sidewall repair solutions are rated up to 40psi and allow you to repair the exterior of your tire! GlueTread puncture repair kits are recommended for use on off-road tires only.

GlueTread is a family owned business that was quite literally started in our garage. The Auble family grew up riding ATV’s, using farm equipment and enjoying the outdoors together. When the opportunity was presented to start a business around these passions, we hopped on it! Everyday, we work together to bring products to market that will make your off-road experience more enjoyable and affordable while trying to reduce the number of tires that end up in a landfill. Dave has a professional background in engineering and he’s not new to running his own business. Andy’s background is in product development where he worked with a team in Salt Lake City, Utah bringing products from concept to shelf in big-box retailers, like Lowe’s and Michael’s Craft Stores. We pride ourselves on our ability to solve problems within the industry, so if you have a new style tread or a new problem for us, don’t hesitate to reach out!

Why GlueTread is the better option:
-GlueTread is more cost effective than buying a new tire.
-GlueTread products are easy to apply.
-GlueTread products dry quickly and bond firmly.
-GlueTread’s method saves time because the wheel assembly can remain on the vehicle.
-GlueTread’s method saves money because there is no cost to remove the tire from the rim.
-GlueTreads’s method extends the life of your current tire to meet the expected life of the vehicle.
-GlueTread’s method does not require special tools.
-GlueTread provides minimum down time because you can repair the tire and return it to normal use the same day.
-GlueTread helps you keep discarded tires out of a landfill.

  1. Another great production. Though your tyres look shot, you could consider tubes inside them until you can afford tyres. I thought the patch would definitely work inside the tyre.

  2. You are a good teacher Sam. My husband and I love watching your videos! Keep up the good work and keep that fantastic personality going. You always make me chuckle!

  3. That knife is a NEAT tool. have you thought about going into retail sales , because i bet you could sell anything .

  4. i do love your bloopers Sam, you make me laugh all the time your humour is fab,

  5. I hope you make a video when you do all the maintenance on your tractor! I'd love to see it if it's not too much trouble. Happy New Year to you and Angela and your boys!

  6. I would not put any faith in the patch. The tire failed the second time at its weakest point which was coincidentally not the patch. The patch was stronger than the dry rotted tire. That does not mean the patch would work on a good tire with no dry rot.

  7. I really don’t think that will work.might patch From inside ,and a tube .lots of luck

  8. Sam hit that tire witha whole LOTS. Of that green slime pump a few bottles in there Andrew Camarata uses it if it didn’t work he wouldn’t keep using it 😂 hope it works for you

  9. Maybe fill the tires with foam ,for solid tires if rims are not that bad . Will add weight do away with liquid that causes wheels to rust . So if you feel comfortable with using the tires . Otherwise maybe new tires and filling with foam no more flats if wheels are safe for that.

  10. You must have tractor dealers around your area……. check with them for a set of good used tires! Then add your tubes and mount them……. another product that works well is that tire slime….. but those tires are beyond good….lol…. good luck.

  11. I would of used some patch material you cut off and applied it to the new leaky area. Would not cost any more money, you have the patch, sandpaper and the glue, so why not.

  12. Hey, Sam…actually, this was a FUN video. But, I have/had a thought: Concerning the cost of new tires for your tractor…and knowing that it's gonna be an essential tool for work when winter ends…why not allow US to help you cover that cost? If you had something like a "Buy Sam and Old Blue A Tire" button online, I would gladly start feeding the kitty by sending $100. Maybe if enough of your other almost 95,000 subscribers to this channel would contribute even $.10, just think how soon you could have those new tires bought, set up at the tire store, and installed on your tractor! Shoot, you could be poppin' wheelies out there "before three cats can skin a minnow."
I'm serious. If you do something like that, please make several big announcements and keep us posted on the progress of that fund raiser. And, to put a little guilt on you, I'll bet Elijah needs lots of tractor time…and he's getting older each day!

  13. I really enjoyed this episode! It was fun to see if it was gonna work or not and you were very very good at reading directions before you did it, not too many people do that, including me. Lol It honestly look like if that was the only thing that was wrong with the tire it would’ve worked but because the tire was so old and had dry rot, there wasn’t a chance. I think if it was a regular tire, it would work.

  14. Really enjoy your family videos! Thanks for “testing” different products. Thanks for telling us about products you love & why.
