  1. Wow. So much to learn ๐Ÿ˜ž I'm into it, hubby not as much. Makes me pulled BUT! My trust is in the Lord!
    Thank you ๐Ÿ’™

  2. Love your channel have been doing a lot of the things you guys do and love being dependent on ourselves over the years. Though we are not off grid we do all the gardening and canning. Been watching your videos on your water system and are working towards that goal. We have a small horse farm and raise other animals. Have not been able to afford a truck as probably a lot of people as you have seen the prices. Would be an answer to many prayers. Not only for myself but others as well. God bless you for all your work to help people better their lives in a simpler way. Keep up the videos. We learn from like minded people.โค

  3. Regardless of the truck…this channel is a blessing of its own! Thank you for all the information!

  4. I wasn't clear, did you build that water heater or did you buy it? Back in the day I had copper coils inside my woodstove to heat the water.

  5. We are grateful for your videos. Water infrastructure is our next project. We installed our solar panel and wood, water, gas generator and electric batteries systems for our heat and energy needs. Weโ€™re not 100% off grid, but we could be, if necessary. Water is the next big project. We have been helped blessed and inspired by your channel, website and books (I love my cookbook!) Thank you.

  6. Great shower set up. Enjoyed the hot water system also. Yes, learning how to get by when the comforts of home go haywire.

  7. My husband and I have been practicing ending our showers with cold water thanks to you and Stacy.

Also, I wonder if YT is gaslighting you and keeping your numbers down. I have been watching for a few weeks (since the TS vids) and your numbers are staying down, even though the viewers are going up. Hmmm….

  8. People have no grit anymore. It's terrible to see that happening. I'm so thankful I paid attention to my grandparents.

  9. I like how you got into it with that psycho girl that said ya'll are fake and since then you have been showing us exactly how you live the way you said you do. Bravo! She was a nut!

  10. Wow, this was really interesting. I do need to watch all your rainwater catchment videos in a row. Not sure how doable it is with an asphalt shingle roof. But surely, for watering plants, or taking outdoor showers, that would work. Otherwise, we have a well for drinking water. Also in North Texas so not tons of rain. ๐Ÿค”

  11. We are on well water and are installing a wood cook stove. I do the cold shower for my rinse off. Hubby can't hack that!

  12. I gotta say that i need hot water for my showers. So we have a propane fired shower in the Trailer if the power is out for a while. At least for a year or so we can burn the propane from the big tank for showers.

    Love the content Doug.

  13. We have a wood boiler and are working on hooking it up to solar so our water and heat runs off wood and solar. Been installing solar lights around the farm it has cut down on electricity alot.

  14. Hello again, Doug & Stacy! Thank you for another most informative off grid homesteading video!!

I just caught that I made a mistake yesterday in posting my comment meant for your previous video here on this one instead and hope I have that fixed. (I'm typing offline, and I must have clicked around too fast when I got online.)

Hey, on the techie subject, and since you mention you're reading comments, do you happen to have a video covering the selection of ISP, website hosting and such? Or any resources you can possibly point me to in this department?

Oh yeah – the GRIT! For real! It really can be kind of a process if someone has been "spoiled" by the control grid.

I have learned to enjoy and appreciate a cold shower too. Learned about Wim Hof last year. Good stuff.

Alternating between hot and cold is great too. This is worked out quite easily if you have a bit of heated water for a "hot" outdoor shower when it's cold out and you pause often between soaping up and such. Hehe ๐Ÿ˜

All sorts of good ways to practice getting out of our comfort zones!

And the breathing. You're right, so many people don't know the importance and what a difference it makes! Oxygen is amazing!

Your videos paired with your fun, thoughtful and generous giveaway have certainly made a positive impact on my 2023 so far.
You all inspire and encourage us so much! Thank you and keep on keepin' on!! โค

  15. Thanks for the info. I am curious about what you do if there is no rain for an extended period?
