Cool Season Flower Seed Haul

This video will be the 2nd of my seed haul series, Cool Season Flower Seed Haul. I’ll tell you the difference between cool or hardy annuals, half-hardy annuals and warm or tender annuals. I’ll then show you the seeds I will be planting this year for my cool flowers. Make sure you check out my Vegetable and Herb Seed Haul and future warm or tender annual seed haul and my pollinator seed haul.

  1. This year, I plan on trying to grow Dwarf Magic Carpet Mixed Snapdragons. I'm limited to containers, and I think they would be an awesome addition.

  2. Hi Debbie – this will be my first year doing a huge flower garden. I have lots of annual and perennial seeds. I do have the Cool Flowers book but did not sow in the fall. I will start several seeds indoors and sow some outside in March/April. I’m in Zone 5 – Eastern Nebraska. I have a lot of deer here so it’s literally a daily battle. 😒

  3. I enjoyed the video and seeing all the beautiful flower varieties was awesome. I am in zone 7b. I will be planting Rudbekia, Poppies, Calendula and Pansies. Last year, I just scattered California poppy seeds on the side of the driveway and near the mailbox and I was amazed how nice they grew and bloomed with so many different shades of pinks, purples, yellow and oranges. I struggle to grow calendula and pansies. Do you cover calendula and pansy seeds? Thank you for all the great tips and ideas!

  4. Thank you for your video. Snapdragons are on my seed list this year that I am most excited about, but after watchig this video, I'm just anxious to see any flower blooming in my garden.

  5. Another amazing video, amazing seeds to plant! Have started several flower seeds here. Maypop passion flower, climbing aster, and blue porterweed to name a few. What an amazing giveaway!!

  6. This will be my first year doing a big space for flowers for my two little girls. Thank you for your information and actually showing where you purchase your seeds. There are so so many things I have on my wishlist from Johnny but being 24 with a four and two year old, it is not very affordable. I am hoping to grow rudbeckia for the first time this year, along with snapdragons. Wishing you well in the gardening season. God bless.
