  1. This was a great video to share now, Amanda. Love all your tips and like you, since retirement, I don't see Excel spreadsheets — except for keeping up with our big family's birthdays (16 grandchildren!). I have a storage box with all my seeds, but need better organization of them, so this was very helpful. And the calendar — yes! I have some things digital, but I really like looking at a real calendar everyday. Excited for spring to see what all you are doing this year.

  2. Good Thursday morning Amanda. Excellent video. Thanks for all your tips on how to stay organized in the garden. I love the idea of of using a Post It Note Calendar – very practical.

  3. I do love a hard copy. I organize all my seeds and when I start them on my spreadsheet, I love a good spreadsheet. I like that I can change it from alphabetically to weeks to start. And then will print it out.

I started journaling 3 years ago. And set up the journal for each month and then han write a lot of things in there. I do love the hands on feel as well. So I do both.

  4. Such a helpful video! I like to work on paper and hadn't considered an actual calendar- thank you for that tip! Will definitely be trying that out. It also totally resonated with me that you don't want to put your gardening dreams on the computer- I need to write mine out too!! Best of luck in the 2023 season!! 🌼🌿

  5. Love Love Love the calendar idea πŸ’‘…I currently have no organization in place for when to do what πŸ™ƒ… I'm the person, that's like…oh you starting seeds today, ok I will too… meanwhile we have a 1000 degrees difference between us πŸ€£πŸ‘Š punching myself in the face, lol…well maybe not a 1000 degree's, I'm 9a! Houston 🌱🌱🌱 Thank you! Love the new set up πŸ₯°

  6. Great ideas, thanks for these! I love your idea of using post-its on a calendar, and I do want to try that. My husband and I recently retired and this will be our 2nd year of gardening in Eastern NC, also zone 8A. I love the idea of moving chores over to next month and for not being too hard on yourself for not accomplishing it in the present month!

  7. I also have to use a paper planner for organizing my to-do's, plans & goals for the garden.
Great idea to use " _ weeks before my last frost" instead of just the date!

  8. I have seen the photo storage cases at Tuesday morning cheaper than the Amazon price. Of course, you may not can find them there all the time, but I see them pretty regularly.

  9. Love the calander. I agree about the computer. I'm using a garden journal this year. In past years I have used a plain journel but decided to try one dedicated to gardening.

  10. I am working on my planting calendar tonight and have implemented the way you use the weeks. I never thought of doing it this way and I'm loving it! Writing the number of weeks before last frost on each week. Brilliant! I used to count back from my last frost date. I'm zone 4. Thank you!

  11. I also like the post it garden calendar. I am a visual, tactile, kinesthetic processor. The physical act of writing things on my calendar helps to cement them into my brain. While I use my computer for a lot of things, I'm not interested in creating gardening spreadsheets. I get distracted by the process of the computer. I don't want to bring the computer into my gardening world. Your studio space is looking good!

  12. I am coping all the info in your calendar, I am in 8a zone too ( garland Tx) your helping me a lot with your videos πŸ€—πŸ™πŸ€©thank you
