    For my fellow Americans, 5 degrees CELSIUS. That's around 40 Fahrenheit. She did not leave her plants well below freezing for 4 days.

    I'm also an atheist and me and my family celebrate Christmas as well, despite not being religious / Christian. I live in Sweden and I would dare to say that most of the people that celebrate Christmas here aren't religious. It's just a family holiday here, as it is in the UK.

    Christmas on Christmas is not a Christian holiday to begin with. It was moved there to have people join Christianity anyway.
    In paganism(?) the winter solstice is celebrated, it's the darkest day of the year and the celebration is more about the light coming back than anything.
    We celebrate Christmas because it's tradition. Not because we're Christians. Sweden celebrate Christmas on the 24th.

    I think celebrating Christmas even if you're not Christian is a European thing. I live in Czech Republic (center of Europe) and basically everyone celebrates it. And most of our population is atheist. Happy new year everyone

    I am glad u had a nice time with your family. I agree it is not gifts I am 73 and I don't see my family and it hurts so I fell my life with my plants and pets I wish I could afford more plants.your lucky u shell have your family and they can help.I love u because you are so down to earth.     I love how you just throw those S. Shakes on the floor. I'm thinking I've been to dainty with my plants and they're hardier than I think. I'm an Atheist and I celebrate the commercialism of Christmas along with my friends and family. I also rather buy gifts for people than receive. If I really want something for Christmas, I buy it myself.

    I highly recommend having two copies of your license and your most used cards. I've lost or had stolen my purse before and what saved me was having another copy of my ID so I could go to the bank and get cash. I just tell (card people) them that I've damaged my card and they send a second that I leave in a drawer in my house so I have it if needed. It has saved me a few times.

    For anyone worried about cars being broken into especially at this time of year: I know people that hide air tags/trackers in their handbags/wallet/purse lining. They'll probably ditch the bag as soon as possible but it'll give police/you more time to track them and their own cars might be picked up on cctv along their route. My friends have started doing this to their bikes and it's helped immensely. Obviously not having anything of value in the car would help but you never know if you forget one day… you can also hide trackers in the doors of your car incase that is also stolen. It's not foolproof but it might help one day.

    I enjoy your content, I usually love Christmas, since I lost everyone I do not enjoy the holidays anymore. I'm sorry you were robbed, I love your integrity and caring attitude to your viewers. I feel I've saved a ton of money from your content. I need to replace two very loved plants that got lost. Did you ever do your own terrarium with the jewel orchids? I got my first one, it's blooming. So thank you

    So sorry that you got robbed, that sucks big time! Yeah same with here in SF, lots of folks were doing lots of shitty things to others during X-mas. My neighborhood has folks casing the area all the time. Scary and annoying. Ugh, Hope this year will be better for everyone!! 😊

    The way Christmas is usually celebrated (presents, food, drinking, etc) is actually a pagan way of celebrating, so to each their own, but I feel as though Chrsitans have no right to 'claim' the holiday persay

    It scares my a bit sometimes how similar we seem to be 😅 Obviously we’re both into plants, but also both into horses. I also really enjoy giving gifts but don‘t care as much about receiving them. I‘m an atheist too (but love Christmas lol), and I think you said at some point you were a „Defender“, which I am too 😄
    Anyway, I hope your Christmas was great and you had a good start into the New Year! 🎉

    Nearly all of my plants aren't bothered at all by 14°C, as long as they have enough light. In fact, most of my more succulent types spend their winter in an unheated greenhouse that drops to 0 at times and they survive just fine as long as they aren't overwatered. Obviously more established plants are less affected than the younger ones and leaf drop is normal with lack of light, water and warmth. Happy 2023!

    Here in Spain it doesnt get too cold but we do have a wood burning fireplace in the living room and when the temp does drop its so nice to just heat the home with the wood we stocked up on. Cost us about 600 Euros for enough wood that will last the whole year including for the wood burning bbq on the porch that we use at least once a week to cook on. Our temp in the house is about 22-23 with the fire going and the home is old and not efficient at all. The windows are just one pane of glass in a wooden frame. If you can get a wood burning in your home do it. Helps so much.
