Propagating fig trees is of my favorite days of the year!
This is my full DIY walkthrough of how I propagate fig tree cuttings, getting them to root, leaf out, and mature. Located in Zone 6b, I choose early January to start this process. Your climate may be different but the reasoning is that the transition from indoor to outdoor in late April doesn’t shock trees at the state they’re in, absent of abrupt shifts in temperature or sunlight.
