You must try to watch a television series called The Durrells in Corfu. It may be available on Youtube. It's about the escapades and antics of a British family moving to Corfu in the mid 1930's. Public TV in the USA showed the series a few years ago and I never missed an episode.

The house, far from civilization as you like, perfect and all the nature around in its maximum splendor.
But what is really captivating is that direct and private access to the sea ( Ionian?). That's priceless.
And the city with traces of Venezian, French and British cultures, very picturesque.

Wow, you found the perfect place to spend some time together. Love the privacy it affords you. You are lucky to have so many wonderful, warm countries close to home where you can escape the cold weather for a while.
omg, almost 2 minutes into the video and i am like oh no no, god no, pls let it not be classic meditarenian scam.. scamers find adresses and pics of officialy renting houses or hoes and post them on airbnb or some other site like it is theirs, they take money, people come or there is nothing on the given adress, there is a ruin or some other crazy thing.. so glad it was not the thing. and i am back home and it is so warm, like a spring time….this weather is insane and we were worried about heating and gas, if it continues like this we wil have summer in spring lol…. i loved this video, greece is on my to visit list, i actually have a friend there ( local boy, the greeke) who i met somewhere else, we stayed in contact, but somehow i always end up not doing it, not going, he asked me 5 times so far, every summer, maybe i should finaly go, but we have this wired strange dinamic when we are together that i am affraid i would seenothing of greece….

Corfu looks like a great place to visit. There was a series on PBS masterpiece a couple of years ago that was a set in Corfu, so I had some idea of what it look like.
You guys found a great house for your stay! It fits your interests really well. We had a great short visit on Cofu as a cruise stop. We also rented a car for the day and found the driving a bit scary as well.

Beautiful little house and private beach! My kind of place! The narrow streets took me back to when my husband and I lived in Japan. My husband is retired from the Navy and we were stationed in Sasebo Japan for 3 years. I hated driving on the narrow, busy streets, but enjoyed the overall, probably one in a lifetime experience!
