  1. wow Kim thats amazing there Is know telling how long Its been sence you have needed that much rain I think your prayers have been answered

  2. Just keep on clearing your drains of debris. I grew up living next to the Thames River in London and even here we get floods.

Our raw sewage overflow pipe started overflowing on the 23rd Dec. We managed to clear it but it was back again after new year. It is shared with our neighbours and not next door but the one after have moved out. We didn't realise that it was rented and they didn't have a good landlord. They have lived there for years. Looks like they have some dodgy builders and plumbers in now as it has happened since they turned up. Ladder is still next to their bathroom and in-between neighbours said that they had problems too. Thames Water (our local water company), was down for a 48 hour eta call out. Still waiting but after the cold snap we have had loads of leaks and problems and are getting the heavy rain that was in the US. We have more heavy rain due on Sunday too. I'm hoping they can fix it before then. Unusual weather can hit us hard.

I worry for you as your house is built on a hill and is made from wood. Keep an eye out for subsidence. Dehumidifiers are good but not in a wooden house as it can distort it. Not sure if you have them them there but you can buy a salt block/ ring that collects water and you just empty that. Leaving the upper windows ajar during the day, lets the moisture out.

Apart from the unusual, pre Christmas blast that got us down to -7c, we are now still waiting for our frost period. Min temps of 5 c are predicted until 20th Jan. Our usual frost date should have started by now. Out Met Office are predicting further westerly winds and a wet Jan.

Anyway, Stay safe and keep us posted!
