  1. You know I really appreciate the information that you put out about prepping. Especially since you keep most of your channel to prepping related topics. A lot of the prepping channels get caught up in all of the political propaganda and promote a lot of fear but you don't do that. You promote more hope through everyday preparedness showing people different things that they can purchase on a budget and foods that they can cook from the pantry, etc. This is valuable to many people, especially to new people. If you look at the other channels thumbnails and titles from a year or 2 years or 5 years ago they're all sensational. We're going to die tomorrow and today and that turns into yesterday and on it goes. Some people prep and some people get paralyzed but you don't really see anybody taking any positive action against what's happening or banning together like they should be to ride out the storm as a community. I don't understand why. I think the prepper community would serve their audience better by getting them ready for weather-related catastrophes then focusing on the many things that the propaganda media is spoon feeding them to share. I'd like to challenge you to a video about how to prepare for a volcanic eruption and the subsequent colder conditions and lack of food etc that people would deal with. It's a very real possibility if you look back in history that it's going to happen again soon. I don't see a lot of videos about all the steps that you should take in that scenario.

  2. Inventory your seeds. I’m starting to look at varieties that need less water. I’m also looking at alternatives to planting. Traditional gardening is so water intensive. So, I’m looking for different ways of water conservation.

  3. What a mess it was to go through my food preps and reorganize them! I planned two days over Christmas vacation, and it took 4, and I am still not quite done! I usually don’t do resolutions, but I sure plan to keep better pantry order in ‘23!

  4. My goal is to organize all our food supplies & inventory them, as well as inventory the other preps. Thanks for all the encouragement!

  5. Just went thru one bag of seeds before watching your video.. I want to grow tabasco peppers to make hot sauce since I found out hubby loves it ( 36 yrs of marriage first Im hearing this 🙄) I make lots of hot sauce using other peppers.. I have lots to be thinking about as for gardening.. this year I have my sons property, my dads property and my brothers property as well as mine I can grow on..excited! Lots of goals to plan.

  6. yep i got out my prepper notebook and my planners plans are started for every thing from crafts i want to complete to the garden and also we got plans for decluttering things that arent serving us to make room for things that are also to make more room for the most important things im also getting lists made for any things we are wanting to get bought or built or just plain done this year the garden is changing just a little this year my greenhouse cover didnt make it thru the last storm so i gotta get another on its way i need that so badly new fencing needs to go up on the back side of my one garden and about a quarter of the backside of the other one too this year nothings getting in there

  7. I'm your Southern neighbor in the communist state of Massachusetts. I just changed the oil on my generator this past weekend with the nice weather

  8. I finally got a rice cooker to use with the long grain rice. OMG what a difference then on the stove in a pot.

  9. What do you do if you don’t eat many canned food as far as storing and rotating? We don’t eat enough and food expires before we get to eat. We eat a lot of frozen meat & veggies. We do eat some canned soups, tuna, but not many fruits/veggies. I have a lot of dried items though.

  10. I spent the afternoon tagging and packing up my preps that I bought in the past 2 mths. I've got my buckets, totes, mylar and now my new vacuum sealer.
I write the BB date on everything ( even tho I know that canned goods last for years, it still helps to rotate them). I have been putting 5lb bags of flour into mylar- I can get 4- 5lb bags in a 5gal mylar bags. A 5lb bag of flour doesn't fit into my mylar bags without dumping the bag out.
The note in the mylar bags say white flour will last for 10- 20yrs!
I can fit a 20lb plus a 5lb bag of rice into my buckets. I like to keep them in the original bags. I toss in alot of oxygen absorbers and pound that lid on tight.

  11. Thank you, Ginny. This is a great idea just to step back and reevaluate preps and goals. Seems I’ve been so busy acquiring all I need, I lost control just by the sheer volume. It definitely needs to be done. 👍

  12. Here's something that may help offset the cost of different gardening needs or anything for that matter in the Spring. This week Kroger (any in their chain) has the 4x gas points for gift cards. When they do this I buy different gift cards of stores I may shop in the spring for gardening supplies. So, if I get two $25 gift cards in a month, that's an extra 200 gas points. Who can't use THOSE?? Plus, it helps things not seem so expensive in the spring when I go to the garden centers for things. Even tools and such. I usually start doing this in late October and go all the way to February. I usually end up with $150 to $200 in the Spring to go towards ANYTHING for gardening. It's like a garden seasonal savings account and I build up more gas points. Hope this helps somebody. Great video, Jinnie!! I sure would love some of that syrup!!!! LOL

EDIT: Please don't talk about re organizing the pantry! I've been canning my butt off! I'm out of room. 😭

  13. This coming weekend I plan to empty, inventory, and rotate my canning pantry, and assess the condition of the seals, etc. My long term pantry room needs the same attention. However, to me, it is totally overwhelming to even think of doing that. Gonna figure out our gardens, as this is our first year moving from container gardening to in ground planting.

  14. Spring garden ready to go. Adding 2 fruit trees and yellow raspberries. Can til more if up to it. Got quail dual purpose but rabbits unsure. Got leftover dumptruck compost and stuff starting in bins.
I got watchcats that will growl.and run towards strange noises. Probably just deer but still check it out with a tool. Dogs eat more and not pleasant stepping in doodoo.😂More in vet bills too. Wish I could get trees down. Good spots for different things. A big greenhouse but trees in the way..

  15. Hello. I had a heart breaking situation where my moms neighbor was going Into an old folk home today. They offered me 3 four shelf shelves but we had to take the food off them and could keep what food we want of it. Well we threw away at least 2 thousand dollars worth of food! Probably much more! It had been in hot then cold Temps for years. I thought of every elderly person that food could have fed. I got tons of light bulbs ect and the shelves that would have been a few hundred. Thanks for all of your advice! God bless!💐🙏💐

  16. In the future our animals, domesticated, will eat what we eat. Start introducing it a little at a time, Now! Build up there immunity as ourselves. Exactly what you thought in your Amazing Mind.

  17. Thank you. Feeling under the weather in November so we went through the store bought larder and found out the things we didn't eat… so we need to plan around our store bought foods. Used to be a bow hunter, destroyed my shoulder and gave it up, need to relearn with a crossbow. God Bless and stay safe.

  18. upstate NY here. I have GOT to reorganize my prep rooms (includes one bed room without the bed, under the bed in next room and double sized closet. I have been looking around all over the place for my motivation but seem to have lost it somewhere.

  19. Thank You for all the tips and reminders.
Definitely, I need to make an inventory, where, I haven’t done one for a long time.
Thanks again and God bless you. 🙏🌟👏✨👍💫✝️⭐️❤️🌹

  20. Could you please recommend some of the books you find useful? I understand you may not have time and that is ok, if you're not able to find the time. Thank you for all your informative videos.

  21. Organizing… First there is a terrible mess as I try to figure out where everything moved to during the year! Headaches, yes. But satisfaction when it's done. Thanks for the lists. Blessings!

  22. I put two big pots of parsley and some oregano and my onions on the front porch. I thought being under cover would be enough. It wasn’t. My parsley is dead. Last year my daffodils came up and we’re beautiful for like a minute and then they got pummeled and water logged by rain. If you can’t protect what you plant, you could just be wasting your money and your time.
