Do you want to grow Citrus trees in containers? The soil I’m using is a container potting soil mix. It’s a perennial soil with sticks, bark, and fertilizer. This mix allows for proper drainage to ensure the tree does not have root rot. The next factor is choosing the pot to plant in. Many gardeners use plastic or clay pots. The plastic containers are lightweight, cheap, and have many holes. Clay pots have mainly one drainage hole. So it’s important to pour gravel in the pot to help with proper drainage. When planting the Meyer lemon tree, it’s important not to bury the graft. Fertilize the soil before planting the Lemon tree is important. When the tree is planted, watering is next to remove the air pockets in the potting soil. Using the index finger will help detect the moisture level. The tree needs adequate sunlight or artificial lighting for it to thrive. Citrus trees can handle temperatures down to 32 degrees. If the tree is kept outside, it’s important to cover it. These are all the tips for growing Citrus, remember to grow something tasty!!
