There are plenty of Chinese in Jingan not wearing masks today. I don't wear one where possible. But if you had been here long enough you will notice that the level of mask wearing is dictated by the level of fear in the community.

22:00 You said it seems they don't want people to come here (on the Bund waterfront promenade). The reason was they wanted to avoid something like the stampede tragedy happened in South Korean during the past Thanksgiving!
Actually they did allow people to go there until it became crowded and then the police block the traffic. IMHO it's good management.
I discovered last night that testing and recovering from being COVID positive is essentially a meme now . Last night I watched a New Years concert where a singer wished everyone to recover from being positive quickly and then asked the audience if they’ve been positive which he immediately followed up with “I’VE BEEN POSITIVE!” It made me crack up. Gotta love China’s joking coping mechanism.
I live in Hawaii and most unmasked people when masking regulations were dropped were mainlanders. The glare I would give them. So inconsiderate.
