My Leaf Clearing Process from Start to Finish

Large leaf clearance from a customer this December. I like to make leaf mould and in this video I show you an easy method on how to do that. It saves a lot of money in the allotment where you can save on compost and manure. Its a long process but worth it. Leaf clearances make up a relatively large chunk of my income from autumn onwards and although I find it a pain, you can earn good money. I price them separately to any garden maintenance packages I offer as its quite a tough job.

  1. In terms of backpack blowers i really recommend the Husqvarna 570 BTS.

With the aceradge I maintain mine gets really heavily used and works well and is good on fuel.

I did have a stihl br600 but found it temperamental and not as comfortable.

  2. Or aless your doing cemeterys, big buisness grounds jobs or massive mansions most the time then I wouldn't bother with a back pack blower there 300+ . Big and annoying to store and move around in and out the van with the pipeing and just over kill
Your hand held stihl it good stuff
One thing you'd love day to day use is a stihl hla 66 with a few ap100 batts . It's light . Great for van space in and out and cuts anything it packs a good punch
    Gta26 handy too
And a 18 inch izy lol lol

  3. when you fill the compost bin try and get a couple bags of grass on top then cover it up put some weight on top like old tree branches logs leaveit for a year

  4. I love my br600 it's great for bulk moving of leaves and post scarification. But the straps are a pita as there is no shoulder strap join at the front and the pack wants to roll off. I use a small battery for day to day jobs.
