Garden Plans

Change of Plans for our Chicken Garden Ventilation (Day 50)

We were hoping to add a nice new window we had left over from our solar shed build, but wouldn’t you know it…things didn’t go as planned. So we switched things up and made something else instead.

  1. Your hard work and determination are really paying off. What seems like baby steps are actually huge contributions to the overall build. Your place IS amazing already but, wow! Can’t wait to see your final house build! ❤️

  2. Just an FYI…. your going to find that the chickens will roost on the window sill and you'll find a ton of poop and possibly some eggs laid up there as well. Placing the screen to the inside would keep that from happening. 👍

  3. Nice. I suggested a solar ventilation fan a few weeks ago for the chickens – hoping that something like that goes in for them. I have a farm fan in my dog grooming area when I remodeled, it wasn't a window, it could be, but I had it put in just for the fan and it is superb. I have the frame covered in an easy clean, industrial-type wire on the exhaust side. I hope there is a solar fan that will meet that window on the eaves …..
    LOVE YOUR SHOW!

  4. The smaller window looks even better. Like it was planned into it. You've made awesome progress, regardless of the various setbacks.
Enjoy watching everything. Your dog 99 is making me want another. Mine disappeared over a year ago. Miss him.

  5. I was just wondering if you realize you are going to have to watch for killer bees settling in and around your buildings out there? I have lived in AZ since 1982 and trust me, in that area they are a real problem and your earth buildings are going to be extremely attractive to swarming hives. PLEASE be careful and mindful of them! They are NOT fun to get off of you once they attack. Been there, done that, NOT fun at all.

  6. The Unicorn represents magic, the mythology and nature of Scotland. Pride, strength and innocence. Also in all heraldry of the UK, the Unicorn next to the lion of england is always chained. ( How bout that for symbolic lol )

  7. Why no Shou Sugi Ban on the 4X6 beams? Love these videos and so happy you're still doing weekday frequency. I foresee 100K subs in your not to distant future. Best wishes!

  8. You guys are amazing but I noticed the “garage” doors are not completed now and they were last week! 😜

  9. There is a very cool gel/paint/stain on the market called Unicorn Spit! I plan on ordering some and picking up a cheap piece of furniture to try it out on after I try it on a pine 2×4! I'll let you know how it turns out.

  10. Are you going to make it so that you can open the nesting boxes from behind for gathering eggs? And will you have something to block night time access to the nesting boxes from the inside so they don't roost on them and poop all over the nesting bedding? Oh! Oh! Oh! How about roosting perches? How are you handling that? Love y'all:)

  11. Cold? This is not cold… This is cold:

Ottawa, ON Weather Updated on Fri., Jan. 14, 11:05 p.m -21°C so tha is like -6F 🙂

  12. 🙂👍 looking good. Have you thought about incorporating wild bird boxes on the top of the coup. Just a thought.
It's gone far beyond crop circles, too the chicken coup. Good air flow . Take care and be safe and God bless amen. ❤

  13. Looks great – really enjoy your videos. Maybe cut foam sheets and put several layers inside the window frame and doors for winter! -Got all summer to figure that out.

  14. I see you were making "ankle bracelets". lol, Kids are so funny. Nice way to roll with the punches. Innovation, flexibility, that's what it's about. Beautiful work as always.

  15. Lexan windows is your solution. Make a wooden frame, screw in lexan plastic window that you can cut to size with a jig saw.

  16. Hello Family please could you release the subtites forall countries like portuguese(brazil),Spanish etc, thank you

  17. Like how you sharpened that pencil. It reminded me of my dad that used a pocket knife when in his work room…

  18. You guys do great work.Maybe I should have popped out more kids lol.Joking my 21 yr old son and my 14yr old daughter will be enough to build this way with. Will just take a bit longer.Got a question for ya…do you have books you recommend for hyper adobe or just adobe building that include windows ,plumming roof ect?

  19. Off subject, and you may have revealed your age in one of your early videos, but I am a new viewer, so could you tell me how old you are?

  20. I'm so sorry that anyone makes rude comments. Let it roll off, like water on a duck, as they say. Someone honked at me for going too slow in a parking lot today and it made me grumpy, but I worked on letting it go, it took about 15 minutes.
    You'all are dear people.
