  1. Thank you, Austin. This was very interesting! Made me wish I had acreage to plant persimmons and pawpaws.
    One you didn't mention that I think is beautiful is a variegated horseradish. They do also spread, and subsequent plants tend to lose the variegation. And my neighbors always compliment my artichokes–a pretty dramatic plant, even if they don't overwinter well north of zone 6B.
    And omg, the squirrels this year. They figured out how to harvest my ground cherries. I have 40 plants and have eaten only 4 fruit!
